Ayyyy

At SPX 2019 I was helping run the ShortBox table and happened to meet Qu. She had a self-publisher copy of Slices of Life and wanted to show it to Zainab, who wasn't there. We took a sample mini she made and passed it along.

Big thanks to the whole TCAF team for putting on a great show esp having to deal with the venue change and complicated logistics, and even bigger thanks to @bulgilhanpress.com for being a fantastic table-neighbor! We had a really great time in Toronto, and I'm already looking forward to 2026 now~

It's my birthday so today is a great day to place an order for a book! I'll be closing up shop at the end of the day on JUNE 14TH. kumerish.bigcartel.com

Anti-ICE protest in DTLA 6/6/25. For @calmatters.org

If you're a Marine or other service member being mobilized to Los Angeles and you'd like to apply for conscientious objector status, call the GI Rights Hotline to get some guidance on your options: 1-877-447-4487

These people have to account for the deep hatred and revulsion they feel when watching others act out of sincerity, courage and compassion. It threatens and bewilders them, so they must explain it away as something they recognise and understand: moral vapidity and self-absorption

I had a great time in Toronto for TCAF but boy howdy am I glad to be home.

Are you a natural navigator? We need volunteers to help with convention floor wayfinding and parking assistance! Follow the arrow to sign up: ➡️ www.calmercon.org/volunteer #boston #comics #volunteer

hey siri, does the military like it when they are subjected to open disrespect from civilian leaders?

Thank you for a wonderful weekend TCAF! Our bags are lighter and our heart is full! Huge congrats to @librarylandia.bsky.social and the whole @torontocomics.bsky.social team for pulling one of the hardest maneuvers in event planning: moving venues and maintaining the vibe.

It is completely unlawful for ICE to turn away members of Congress like this. The law could not be more clear; no member of Congress may be denied access to a facility where ICE is detaining someone, and they cannot be required to schedule in advance. Surprise inspections must be surprise.

Worth bearing in mind that illegal entry is a misdemeanor and being unlawfully present in the country is not even a criminal offense, but a civil one. This is the equivalent of saying we need to torch the Constitution & send in the SWAT team to catch jaywalkers & people with overdue library books.

Using this to break ACAB down for anyone who still doesn’t understand. Let’s agree the shooter is a bastard. The others should have prevented him from firing, and after he fired he should have immediately been taken out. He felt comfortable enough to fire because he knows he will get away with it.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

This is a good model on what to ask your own city councils for - no contracts with ICE, no assistance or compliance with immigration enforcement because it is literally not your job. 🤷🏻

Riot control is underway, but we still need someone to lose every war in recent memory, impregnate teenagers, and get a lot of DUIs. Send them in.

Too much “what are the protesters doing” and not enough “why isn’t ICE leaving?”

this is the exact same narrative they spun when i lived in pdx. you have to talk to people who live there. you have to tune into local news. everything in pdx was also 1 city block downtown but the cops were so aggressive we were getting gassed in our apartment across the river.
