Editing an index on medieval rhetoric. What better soundtrack could I have than the last 24 years of Eurovision? A vocal contest with emphasis on performance/delivery. All about persuading the audience. Definitely ars poetriae. Looking forward to this year’s contest! #IndexSky #eurovision

Context: I find baseball boring. Event: Kid asks me to explain the rules of baseball, knowing nothing about them. Apparently, my (neutral!) description of the rules is so good that kid now thinks baseball sounds awesome. I’m going to take this as a (weird) win.

Happy Transgender Day of Visibility! Pliny the Elder, writing 2000 years ago in Rome (NH 7.4), states, "Women transforming into men is 'non fabulosum'," which seems kinda rude, but means that it is ordinary, not fantasy. He lists examples, including Arescon, formerly Arescusa, & L. Cossicius.
