This is what I think, more or less verbatim, every time there's one of these episodes.

A criminal gang has taken over the White House. It's not a group of "conservative politicians." It's a criminal gang run by a convicted felon. It's breaking laws every day. It's kidnapping people. It's soliciting bribes and extorting businesses. This is not a political story – it's a crime story.

Free speech for me, a felony for thee.

"Across Texas, voters rejected the book banners, the billionaires, and the bullies. They shut the door on culture war candidates and told the MAGA machine. Not in our city, not in our schools, not anymore." www.lonestarleft.com/p/texas-runo...

My God that poor child screaming while her family is taken. My God. The violence of this.

It’s not a surprise that the man who purposely incited a violent attempt to overthrow an American election would now purposely incite violence on the streets of Los Angeles as a justification for military force against American citizens. Not a surprise at all.

“Trump is using military forces to stop a protest — I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us.” Doechii at the #BETAwards

This took a while to get done, but I've chronicled my day among the protesters in Los Angeles, and the idea that this is anything but a celebration of cultural heritage and a firm, nonviolent demand to protect family, friends and neighbors is totally ridiculous. prospect.org/justice/crie...

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.” They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

Making the whole thing a street party is exactly the right approach. Keep the violence and escalation on the side of the state. Images of repression, undermine governmental legitimacy. And the more sympathetic that protesters look, the harder it is to paint them as dangerous.

Watching the right now oppose the part of the second amendment that guarantees a well regulated militia under state control is… something.

"It would have been unthinkable to the members of the 9th Congress that a bill enacted to prevent the establishment of a rival nation would be invoked to shut down a few thousand citizens peacefully protesting the arbitrary kidnapping of U.S. residents by heavily armed federal oprichniki."

Hello. I live in Los Angeles. The president is lying.

Those who do not learn from history…

Cuts have consequences, illustrated. As seen on TV 📺

Good morning and welcome to Pride Month 2025, when "straight" white Christians get on social media, TV, and their pulpits and demonstrate how they think about gay sex way, way more and in far greater detail than than gay people do.
