huh, the new Donkey Kong game is a prequel to Mario Odyssey www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVUi...

Me: Everything at work is down. Wife: Oh no... Wait, did you do it? Me: I only wish I had that kind of power.

Spent half my day solving something and while I'm typing up the PR on GitHub I suddenly realize there's an easy fix that doesn't even require any code. So it goes.

I feel like a lot of posts in /r/MaliciousCompliance could be easily resolved if people just tried talking and weren't fixated on passive-aggressive revenge fantasies.

What even is contrast anyway?

Sometimes, the internet is fun!

I wasn’t able to pre-order a Switch 2, but on a whim I checked out my local Best Buy at 10:30am today and got one, no problem. 🎉

I'm old enough to remember when the mouse wheel was invented. No joke, it was a pretty big deal.

I’ve been busy, so I also wrote about how I optimized the webfont performance on my new website: arielsalminen.com/2025/optimiz...

Just noticed this in Chrome on Windows. Catastrophic. Literally unusable. I just... I have a child. He's so young and innocent. I don't know how I'm going to explain this to him.

I appreciate the google cal "you have a meeting in 10 minutes" reminder but I need another one right when the meeting starts like "hey no for real that meeting is now".

I knew someone who was concerned because her new kitten was making weird sounds and shaking a lot. Turns out it was... purring. I know there's no entrance exam to getting a cat, but I feel like this is something a person should know about before getting a cat.

Apparently em dashes are now a sign that someone used AI to write something. But I've been using them for years on my blog. Fortunately I've been using them incorrectly — with spaces around them — so yeah I have proof I'm not using AI.

Goldfish crackers are excellent with soups (instead of saltine/oyster crackers). Just saying.

Been noticing "AI" becoming a catch-all term for, well, whatever. I know companies have been doing this for years as a marketing play, but now it's just anyone. In the past week, I've seen mail merge and text-to-speech being called "AI".

The market is sad. My retirement portfolio is sad. I am sad.

🥳 It's an exciting day! 🥳 Thanks to Webflow GSAP is now 100% FREE - including ALL of the bonus plugins like SplitText, MorphSVG, and all the others that were exclusively available to Club GSAP members. We can't wait to see what you make! gsap.com/blog/3-13

Idea: geo-triggered reminders I can add "buy dog food" to my todo list, but I'll absolutely forget about it when I happen to go to the grocery store. But if I got a notification when I was there, I'd remember.

hey happy monday morning everyone! I just tried to change dirs with `git checkout ../..` 🙃

Someone donated $50 to me today, as thanks for one of my open source projects. The gesture is so very much appreciated. Feels good, you know?

everyone: "Studio Ghibli is a celebration of humanity, of handcrafted animation that showcases the love and soul of dedicated artists that care about..." OpenAI: "hold my beer"

This is amazing. Look at this. LOOK AT THIS.
