Here’s the roster of poets in “White Winged Doves: A Stevie Nicks Poetry Anthology” forthcoming from Madville Publishing in 2026.

Goodnight, Roberta Flack. ❤️

Submissions are closed for the Stevie Nicks anthology and Megan Volpert and I are busily reading and making selections. Stay tuned!

It's always a great day when the contributor copies arrive! Excited to be included in the Fall 2024 issue of South Carolina Review with so many poets I admire, including @collinkelley.bsky.social and @allisonfieldbell.bsky.social #booksky #poets

For David Lynch (From “Wonder & Wreckage: New & Selected Poems”)

RIP David Lynch

David Lynch inspired my poetry and fiction, entertained and disturbed me in equal measure, and was the textbook definition of an auteur. His loss is immeasurable.

Good riddance.

Love extended deadlines! Time to write and submit more Stevie Nicks poems.

Thanks, @davebonta.bsky.social !

Megan and I have heard from quite a few poets that they need a little more time, so we’ve extended the deadline for the Stevie Nicks poetry anthology until Feb. 12. Send us those poems, you wild hearts! 🔮🕊️🎩 madvillepublishing.com/submission/

Happy New Year

Looking back at 2024 and some news for 2025.

The “Sugarcane” documentary is devastating to watch. The filmmakers’ decision to frame the horrifying discoveries with long silences and wide vistas of British Columbia is beautiful and chilling. You won’t be able to stop thinking about it.

Oh, those long-distance love affairs… #poetry

If I see one more goddamn social media conspiracy post about drones and UFOs, I’m taking hostages. Get a life, people.

A persona poem inspired by the great silent film “The Wind” starring Lillian Gish. #poetry

Many thanks to South Carolina Review for publishing “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye” in the new Fall 2024 issue. I’m out of the submission loop now, so if this is the last one then I’ve gone out on a high note and with a fantastic journal. ❤️ #poetry

Goodnight, icon.

I hope you got a chance to watch our readings on Mon., Dec. 2nd, and Tues., Dec. 3, but if you didn’t, you can watch them on YouTube! Monday's reading: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU0y... Tuesday's reading: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eB9u...

I'm about to embark on a new adventure as the editor of LGBTQ+ news outlet Georgia Voice. The next four years are going to be challenging for the community, so providing factual news will be vital.

Went to a late night screening of “Wicked,” which I enjoyed more than I thought I would despite its ridiculous three-hour runtime.

My friend, my friend, I was born doing reference work in sin, and born confessing it. This is what poems are: with mercy for the greedy, they are the tongue’s wrangle, the world's pottage, the rat's star. — Anne Sexton

A poem from my new & selected collection, “Wonder & Wreckage.” I’d never heard of terminal agitation until I became a caretaker for my mother after her cancer diagnosis. #poetry

Just a reminder — and to all the new followers — submissions are open for “White Winged Doves: A Stevie Nicks Poetry Anthology” coming in 2026! Guidelines/submit here: madvillepublishing.com/submission/

Big hello to all the Irish and UK poets who have found me here! 🇮🇪🇬🇧

Welcome new followers. I promise to follow back soon. Right now, I’m living in a hotel after contractors working in my building flooded my apartment. It’s a mess!

My witch’s brew to get us out of this stew. #poetry.

“Wonder & Wreckage: New & Selected Poems” is out now. Using the language and imagery of cinema, this director’s cut is framed by the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and '90s using pop culture and iconic movies to propel a narrative of love and loss.

15M people on Bluesky!!! 💫 The Verge beat us to our own announcement — that's the beauty of an open network with public stats!

A poem inspired by Wim Wenders’ iconic film and an ex who ran away many years ago. Stay in the west.

Nearly 100 new followers in the last day or so. I’m trying to follow everyone back. It really is thrilling to see so many poets and writers finding each other in this new space.

“Departure” by Louise Glück #poetry

Amor Fati, Jane Hirshfield.
