Very fun thread but an unfair comparison as I am often relieved (ha) and thrilled to see a porta pottie.

Well, let me just forward that to admin...

The Conroe Police Department estimates that there were 1300-1500 participants in today's protest!

They couldn't rustle up a marching band or hand out flags to the crowds to make it seem less lethargic?

More people show up for the local concert in the park on a 100 degree day.

The weather held up for the protest! This morning's forecast called for rain the entire time, but it stayed sunny!

Kicked off my day supporting the local foodbank (and outrunning the rain)! Storms are moving in, so the protest this afternoon might not happen/become a car parade (we take the lightning seriously)

The pawn who would be king

Whenever things get tough, just remember that today could be THE day and you've been invited to the party

Nope nope nooooooope (in order to recognize voices, it has to always be listening, and we don't play those games in my house)

I went to my favorite swim area at the nearby lake yesterday. It is normally clear with sand. Now there's a bunch of itchy lake weeds growing in half of the swim area. It is maintained by the National Parks Service, so I made sure to point out that it was probably due to loss of staffing.

I had a weekend of surprise birding! While admiring some flowers, two of my favorite dinosaur birds (pileated woodpeckers) flew to the tree next to me! They had lunch and hung out for a bit, too.

Shoutout to the common grackle at my feeder for being really confusing for a minute (I sometimes get brown-headed cowbirds or crows, and this was clearly neither of those).
