Look, I'm not saying I want something bad to happen to Kristi Noem. I'm just saying me and the boys know a good gravel pit. It's what Cricket would have wanted.

Democrats didn't do enough to stop this *will* be the narrative we're saddled with for the next 20 years.

Okay, this is an adorable advertisement for a very fun game.

Having seen a print of '77 Star Wars screened in recent years, Robbie Collins here is correct, but that's a part of the film's charm and I believe the '77 cut should be widely available to everyone. It's a nearly 50 year old film. It's allowed to look dated. www.telegraph.co.uk/films/2025/0...

One of the weird things around the NAKED GUN discourse is misremembering the "Movie" Movies (EPIC MOVIE, DATE MOVIE, MEET THE SPARTANS) as the only spoofs of the 2000s and not beloved films like WALK HARD, ANCHORMAN, ZOOLANDER, TALLADEGA NIGHTS, and DODGEBALL which were also killing it but died.

I am desperate to see how audiences react to NAKED GUN. The internet straight up killed the spoof a decade and a half ago. Is there a place for this kind of movie in a post-social media age? I have no dog in this fight - it's genuine curiosity. Can 90 minutes of absurdist comedy still work in 2025?

Booklist, Library Journal, and Publishers Weekly all agree. If you buy one book this year, make it THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT: NEW TALES OF STEPHEN KING'S THE STAND. amzn.to/442NcPv

"Bluesky is dead." Meanwhile, on Bluesky

Agatha Christie's Poirot. He was obsessed. Every Thursday night in the 80s/early 90s was PBS's MYSTERY - a show that rebroadcast British procedurals, of which Poirot was a centerpiece. I could watch silently or shut the fuck up in my room. I chose to watch & earned a lifetime of Christie adoration.

I cannot stress this enough: If your job is made significantly easier by the application and use of AI, it is time to update your resume or start training on a new job skillset, because your boss will soon be able to do what you do with that very same AI and cut out the costly middleman.

Finally hit “Day Zero” by @crobertcargill.bsky.social in my stack of unread books. What a fantastic and touching story. I know I’m late to the game on this one, but wow. Just lovely.

Daniel Stern as Earl Cavender in WHIP IT. Best movie dad ever. A Texas good ole boy who always wanted a son gets a Texas Rollergirl for a daughter and goes ALL FUCKING IN on being a super supportive dad. Try not to cry as a dude watching him hammer his lawn sign in his front yard. Perfect TX moment.

I think one of the truly sad tragedies if this initial AI era are those who have bought into "prompt writing" as a marketable skill, like that won't be the very next thing AI creators shore up. I hate to be the guy tapping the sign again, but you are not USING AI, you are TRAINING it to replace you.
