now that it has been a few months since MH:Wilds I can say it is probably the worst launch/post launch I have experienced in the series. It was very apparent the game, much like Rise released in an unfinished state and the first patch focused on adding a proper finale to the base game.

Tangential to this: This is why I can’t watch the game awards. They’re inherently anti-human and awards go to the product in every category instead of to the craftspeople behind the games. Even the art direction award goes to projects, not art directors on behalf of their teams.

I think one thing State of Play and SGF have shown that Eastern game companies are running the show right now. Very few european companies are releasing titles this year and I think it shows some of the turbulence going on in the Western market of the industry.
