Meet the PI’s! Ann Mc Cartney earned her PhD in bioinformatics at Dublin City University. From her postdoc work w/ the Māori to create genomic work that were inclusive + responsive, she brings community centered informatics expertise to her Assistant Researcher position at UCSC Genomics Institute.

Meet the PI’s of D4I! Matthew Anderson (Tsalagi) received his training in host-pathogen interactions at Stanford, is a UW-Madison professor, and was instrumental in building out Indigidata with Krystal Tsosie and the Summer internship for INdigenous peoples in Genomics (SING).

Meet Joseph Yracheta! (Purepecha) Just like Yoda, he’s full of wisdom and no one knows his age. He’s the executive director of NativeBio Data Consortium @nativebio and one of the PIs of the D4I TDR project. The bigger question is 100 men vs 1 gorilla or 1 Joe vs theft of Indigenous data???
