Deeply disturbed at Rubio's announcement that he's looking to aggressively deport Chinese academics. Seems like an insane, self-sabotaging action that will cause a lot of my coworkers to worry or leave the US.

My efforts to move to Europe (ideally Netherlands - of all the places I've visited it was the place I had the strongest gut-feel that it could come to feel like home) are taking me longer than I had hoped. Finding a really good job takes time, and it's far easier without an ocean intervening.

I get a little kick out of sending biological specimens to the 3d printing company, knowing it's probably quite different from what they normally print for customers. I'd like to think that the insect body parts we're having printed have cousins the 3d printing staff made/kept for themselves.
