These days I have to be in the right headspace to listen to and enjoy (blackened?) death metal. Got a chance to check this one off my list today. Not sure how to refer to the recurring horn instrument drones, ?sea tuba?, but I love it. Need more of that in metal...*WOOOOOOOMP* #metalsky

My favorite Skeleton Witch album. #metalsky I played Beyond the Permafrost on repeat when it was released. Lost touch with the band and came back in 2020's to find this gem. Totally distinct in terms of sound and atmosphere from the earlier work...love the evolution.

Good way to start the morning. Loving the new releases of 2025... #metalsky

This is becoming a 2025 top 10 album for me. Just so good...

Enjoying this...not at all familiar with their prior work. Will check out this new release coming May 23. #metalsky

Agree with the mumblings on #metalsky re: Ancient Death. This album has some bangers on it.

Death Metal band about a forensic pathologist called Bone Knower.

Death Metal band about construction associated injuries called Build Tower.

3 tracks. 43 minutes. That's all I need to know. Again my dearth of knowledge about sub-genres. Apparently this is funeral doom? I dunno, but I like it. Synthy stuff, death growls, epic sounding guitars, covering my ear holes like a warm blanket. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funeral...

This. Now. Today.

Strongly considering this...

Anyone else too old to understand/care about differences in metal sub-genres? What's blackened death or deathened black or symphonic shoegaze post-core blackened OSDM? I like where metal is going in the 2020's. So much cross-pollination of genres. I just don't like the names. If it rips, it rips.

This album is so good. I really, truly recommend giving it a listen if you haven't yet. Really dynamic and well-composed. #metalsky Favorite tracks: Ancient for Someone, Sunless Morning

Hold on...I'm busy listening to the new Propagandhi. I was hoping for lots of thrashy/punk goodness. It's a bit more somber and slow, but still great. #metalsky

On this one today. Favorite track right now: Ancient for Someone. It's like a more twang-y Ulcerate, among other things...if that makes sense.

I'm okay with a new Iron Lung album. #metalsky

Enjoying this 2024 release today. Track 1 is my leading favorite. The atmospheric guitar riffs in the latter half of the song feel kind of shoegaze-y and very different from anything else I've heard from them. #metalsky

With no prior listening experience with this band, I can confidently say after three straight listens today this is going to be a favorite 2025 album for me. Not my typical thing, but the mix of genres and Doomy psychedelic rock is just done well. Favorite track so far: The Dress #metalsky

I am here to confirm that II by Blood Abscission is worth a listen.

It was not Metal. Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon.

Onward to Golgotha is a gateway drug.

Making my own beer and heavy metal fest out of jealousy. #pityparty

So jealous.

Giving this a try today.

Definitely okay with this new Deafheaven - although I've only listened half-way through twice. So far, so good.

I rarely find bands that are my "favorite". I find albums that I become so obsessed - listen to over and over and over - until it becomes a part of my life, until I'm sick of hearing it. Future listens usually resurrect memories and feelings, like pavlovian time capsules.

Grooving to this today.

This is definitely my favorite release of 2025 so far...
