Could you imagine the response if a democratic president said they didn’t know if they had to uphold the Constitution? How fast would the articles of impeachment be drawn ? 20 minutes at the most

The richest 0.1% of Americans control $22 trillion in wealth. The bottom 50% control $3.8 trillion in wealth. Read that back. Folks, this is what oligarchy looks like.

The insiders seem to have had a 20min warning before the public

Sen. Cory Booker has the floor.

It’s only Tuesday. Save up any extra fucks you have. You may need them later in the week.

The top 7 donors in the 2024 election — all GOP — gave a combined $1B to buy Trump a second term. It's a gigantic amount of money in total — but it's just pocket change to them. We must get Big Money out of politics. No one from either party should be able to buy an election.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

@misterkristoff.bsky.social, I bow to the prowess of your prose, the depth of your characters, and the layers of your storytelling. Talent, heart, and undoubtedly hard work. 🙏 🖤 (I just read Empire of the Vampire/Damned.)

I fell hard for #AroVolturi and tried to give him the depth and nuance he deserves. archiveofourown.org/works/577723...

Six decades later, Star Trek may still be the only franchise based on the ideas that diversity is strength, justice is the measure of civilization, bounty is to be shared, peace is worth the price, and all these things can be achieved. We need more shows that look ahead and find goodness.

Probably inspired by Michael Sheen’s role in Wilde, I read “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. It's full of bon mots that I might as well share here: “His principles were out of date, but there was a good deal to be said for his prejudices.”
