Fallen Empires week: Gain control of any creature for as long as you control Seasinger as long as their controller has an island in play. That's totally playable in a fish kindred deck or theft deck, even today.

Fallen Empires week: Exiling the creature feels bad, but two mana is quite efficient, but black does make plenty of tokens, and in a theft deck that might actually be an upside. edhrec.com/cards/soul-e...

Final Fantasy Tactics (Creative Studio 3), out Sept 30th

Do you not know death when you see it, old man?

Fallen Empires week: Sacrificing a goblin, itself included, for zero mana at instant speed to save your Krenko or Muxus is a really good deal, especially if you're making piles of tokens like those decks tend to do. edhrec.com/cards/goblin...

Our EDHREC Commander of the Day is Liesa, Forgotten Archangel, who leads 2,636 decks, for a rank of 655. #EDH #Commander

Imagine if the West Wing was set in the Trump admin. Just Sam and Josh doing walk-and-talks about how much to charge for pardons, their favorite Goebbels speech and how washing your hands after pooping makes you gay.

2025 Sign in Blood kill count: 4

No idea why I was thinking about this, but the OG Guardian costume from Alpha Flight might be one of the cleanest, coolest superhero suits ever.

Fallen Empires week: Goblin War Drums is a legit underplayed house. Errata'ed to grant team-wide menace, no other effect does that in mono-red. It's got a lot of utility to this day, something rare for what is widely considered the weakest set of all time. edhrec.com/cards/goblin...

Disappointing to see Curtis Yarvin trending and have the reason not be that he was hospitalized with uncontrollable and never-ending diarrhea.

Share a card you enjoy playing that you don’t normally see during a commander game. I’ll go first.

One bit of discourse a few years back was that Phyrexian Arena had been left behind. It took three turns to match a Night's Whisper, was vulnerable to removal, etc. I don't disagree, but one thing to consider is that there's so many threats in the game nobody can bother to point their removal at it.

Fallen Empires week: Night Soil actually showed up in a Commander 2013 deck. It's a strange card; green doesn't usually want to delve stuff away from the yard, but the fact that it only costs 1 to make a body at instant speed and you can do it repeatedly is quite solid. edhrec.com/cards/night-...

We're diving into Final Fantasy's best cards with set reviews this week. Today @danaroach.bsky.social is showing us the set's best monocolored and colorless cards for the 99 of Commander decks. #Commander #MTGxFinalFantasy edhrec.com/articles/the...

The Dark week: Somehow this is in 758 decks on EDHREC, so if you're going really deep on poison/infect, Marsh Viper is here for you, waiting to give you opponents two poison counters. edhrec.com/cards/marsh-...

The Dark week: Is a red Castle/Builder's Blessing just for goblins worth it in a goblin deck? Eh, I'm not sure, but it's not a terrible card, and in the Dark we've gotta be happy with "not terrible".

The Dark week: The single mana casting cost is really nice, but UU to tap a non-flyer isn't terrible, especially in mono-blue or a deck like Hylda of the Icy Crown. edhrec.com/cards/flood

You’re wearing a trilby, not a fedora, and the reason you can’t tell them apart is why you’re building a Vivi deck.

Hey y’all! June 1st I’ll be playing in the @queenofcardboard.com charity event for #NAMI I’m joined by @sillysushistreams.bsky.social @kurohitsuki.bsky.social & @blackneto.bsky.social ! Could not think of a better way to spend a #BetterDaysMTG than with friends; playing magic for a great cause!

Auction ends in a few hours. www.ebay.com/itm/13586251...

This whole plan makes more sense if you read it in the original German.

I keep it in a box in my basement.

The Dark week: Netting two mana off a mana dork in colors that don't really have mana dorks is insanely useful, even if the dork in question does cost 1UU to cast.

My favorite flavor of Reddit EDH post is the “how do I make this deck stronger?” and the cmdr is Vivi or mono-u Urza. You don’t know how to make that cmdr work and you think two sentences from a guy doomscrolling as he waits for his edible to kick in is gonna solve it?

Every person in this administration is the dude who hides his bite in a zombie movie.

That much time has not passed and I reject any and all claims that it has.

First batch of cards for Ardbert showed up from @cardsphere.com

The Dark week: Note if Dance leaves the battlefield before its first ability has resolved, its second ability will trigger and do nothing. Then its first ability will still resolve and make a token that won't care about the enchantment, letting you do it again.

How every cool deck starts:

Vehicles are the hardest card type for me to review/evaluate, mostly because I just struggle to care about them and deck archetype. Every one I come across writing a set review I just want to say "This might be good enough for a vehicle deck. Or not. Do what you want, I'm not your dad."

The Dark week: You'll want to know Dark Heart of the Woods counts as both a green and black spell. It's also a useful sac outlet in a deck that cares about lifegain as part of a wincon, like Dina, Soul-Steeper, or a deck that is looking to sac and recur lands for profit like The Gitrog Monster.

The best way to play control is to play it so nobody knows you’re playing control. “Do you know the difference between a hustler and a good con-man? A hustler has to get out of town as quick as he can, but a good con-man doesn't have to leave until he wants to.”

The flag doesn’t offend anyone. Real often however it’s the things done and said while waving it by people wearing shirts like this that we find offensive.

The Dark week: Burgeoning and Exploration are both $30+ dollar cards. Gaea's Touch is like $2. Yeah it's way harder to drop on turn 1, but you can also sac it for mana later in the game when you don't need it. It's a really solid budget option that should see more play. edhrec.com/cards/gaeas-...

Legends week: You can't cast it on your turn which is unfortunate, but there's plenty of situations and decks that wouldn't mind turning UU into all their mana even on opponent's turns.

Legends week: It's no Dark Ritual, but what is? Still, spending U to tap that Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer or The Council of Four that you weren't attacking with anyway to leap way ahead in mana seems like a really good deal, and it's only in about 9k decks on EDHREC. edhrec.com/cards/energy...

I added 52 cards today to @cardsphere.com today for a deck I'm building, and 27 of them are already on their way.

Legends week: Blue is pretty excellent at drawing cards, but sometimes too many of those cards are lands. Pitching two of the five lands in hand to get any single target back can be well worth in the right deck, esp since blue isn't good at recurring creatures or walkers. edhrec.com/cards/recall

I see half a dozen Reddit posts a daily titled “Do my commanders make me a bad person?” Your choice of commander doesn’t make anyone a bad person. They might however make you a boring one.
