This is pretty much exactly correct

You go out for a nice dinner and come back to a draft

This is a really good photo. Feels like it might be in some history books* in the future. *yes yes, assuming there will be a future and that it will include books is very optimistic

Can anyone point me to a good primer on (the limits of) Article II? I'm seeing everyone say this was illegal/unconstitutional, and I would like to understand this better.

Hopefully the first sign that the private sector is waking up to reality. Trump and gang are not just a threat to universities, they are a threat to American prosperity.

Is this another Bad Lip Reading video

I know this is a bit but this drives me up the wall when I see it in practice (and that is often). Your job as a researcher is not to feign novelty, it is to engage with ideas. If someone else has done something similar, *engage* with it, don't pretend it doesn't exist so you look more "novel."

New conjoint just dropped

Ross told me he enlisted in the Marines when he was 17 because he loves his country and to help his parents get a path to citizenship. protesting directly in front of Marines deployed by President Trump he told me "it makes me feel sad... a lot of Marines, they’re all Hispanic."

Wouldn't know this (or that these protests even happened) if you read the NYT. Very weird, tbth.

Trump is the Tariff of Rottingham (Actually, a disturbing number of parallels here)

This looks very good, wow!

Fox News hosts will literally put their (and everyone else's) children in harms way before telling this admin to STFU

Senator Padilla’s office sends me this video of his take-down and detention at Sec. Noem’s press conference in L.A.

I guess I can understand that the GOP is fully captured and won't ever stand up in defense of American democracy and liberty, but when will corporate America wake up to the fact that the reason the US economy is so incredible is because of democracy and liberty?

NYT prioritising well here

In the past week, a union leader has been arrested, a U.S. Rep charged with a crime, a U.S. Senator violently handcuffed, and reporters shot with rubber bullets and detained. There is no ambiguity. This is a regime operating as an authoritarian. Americans who believe in liberty must oppose it.

Violence against political opposition is a sure sign of democratic collapse. We are in very dangerous waters. Everyone must resist now.

Where are the libertarians? Where is civil society? Do you want to live in a country where people are deported without due process into foreign gulags? Where US senators are arrested? Where the government ignores court orders and deploys the military on the streets of our cities?

I told you we’d be back

In April, President Trump and Salvadoran President Bukele shook hands in the Oval Office to celebrate a deal to ship gang members to the notorious CECOT prison. But a new ProPublica investigation found there’s more to the story. 🧵👇

76% of Americans (and even 52% of Republicans!) oppose Trump's military parade. But he is doing it anyway and threatening to use force against those who protest. This is a dictator trying to impose his will on the American people.
