I’ve had the pleasure of working a bit with this guy over the last few years and he is the real deal—brilliant, principled, and an incredible lawyer & advocate for working people. He’s exactly the kind of person every state should be electing Attorney General. Donate!

Opinion from the FT's Editorial Board: 'The US and European countries that tout Israel as an ally that shares their values have issued barely a word of condemnation. They should be ashamed of their silence, and stop enabling Netanyahu to act with impunity.' www.ft.com/content/f5fd...

Don’t look away. This is what Libya’s migrant detention facilities look like. This is what Trump is doing. Amnesty International called Libya’s migrant detention centers a “hellscape,” where beatings and sexual violence are rampant and there are many reports of trafficking and even slavery.

Forced arbitration is one of those things that, once you understand how it works, you can't stop thinking about it. Companies can make their workers sign away all their rights to go to court--for wage theft, discrimination, or essentially whatever--in fine print, click-through "contracts".

Due process in America means they give you a sheet of paper telling you you’re off to the foreign slave prison *24 hours before* they actually send you to the foreign slave prison.

Workers deserve fair treatment, guaranteed paid sick leave, a living wage, and more – as Mayor, here’s what I’ll deliver for all New Yorkers:

1. Clay Jackson, a Texas lawyer, provided basic legal advice to an immigrant family fearing deportation Then, two officers visited him at his home, accusing him of "obstructing an ongoing immigration investigation" Then, after speaking publicly, he was fired from his job at a Fortune 500 company

Thank you for endorsing me for Mayor of NYC Chi Ossé! Let’s make shit work.

Very, very important piece about a part of the CECOT story that's gone barely discussed. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/inside-...

NEW from @MiamiHerald: as the Trump admin continues to cite tattoos as evidence of gang membership, experts on the Tren de Aragua gang again confirm that it does NOT use tattoos as a means of identification. The idea seems to have been invented by Americans.

Just blatant lying and ridiculous nonsense from all of the people in this room. Send them all the Hague

HAPPENING NOW: Following the Supreme Court's decision requiring the government to "facilitate" the release of Abrego Garcia, a hearing before Judge Paula Xinis is about to begin. I'm in Greenbelt, Maryland for @lawfare.bsky.social Follow along for updates

BREAKING: En banc DC Cir. court of appeals reinstates members of the NLRB and MSPB that Donald Trump attempted to remove

And just like that, the DC Circuit says the 90-year-old structure of the NLRB is unconstitutional, because it limits the President’s power to fire executive officials, abridging the President’s Article II power as conceived by the unitary executive theory.

I WANT TO BELIEVE IN ABUNDANCE I wrote my review of the new book, what I liked, what political opportunities it presents, and where I was left unsatisfied. Here are some sections, and you can read the whole thing here. www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

How are there actual law professors reading stuff like this and concluding that the problem is that TROs have gone too far

Holy crap. The DOJ is arguing that the President can unilaterally deport anyone he wants without ANY statutory authority, just on his inherent authority as President over national security. That is a terrifying claim to make and not one that has ever been recognized before in US history.

While Trump, Musk, and congressional Republicans are about to slash funding for DC to shower ICE with $$$, DHS displays for the world more waste, fraud, and ABUSE. How much money was wasted on this grotesque and useless display? www.nytimes.com/2025/03/12/u...

Talk about waste, fraud, and abuse www.propublica.org/article/coro...

This piece from @daralind.bsky.social back in 2020 is a good example of what this can look like in practice. www.propublica.org/article/coro...

Columbia’s total non-response to the federal enforcement of political speech crimes on campus is a stunning betrayal of its students and of its most fundamental values. zeteo.com/p/scoop-emai...

This is a very important story. It is also important to understand that this is how ICE operates. They disappear people. Family members and lawyers often cannot get information from ICE about where inmates are located and they cannot contact them. It has been this way for a long time.

Fundamental rights aren’t only guaranteed by the courts. They exist, or don’t exist, through the decisions made by all kinds of people in positions of authority.

Comprehensive review of the evidence that policy is dealing an inflation and demand shock from Matt Klein.

Why are there 18 Democratic senators voting to repeal Biden crypto tax rules? There’s a supermajority in the Senate for essentially nothing except apparently giving tax breaks to crypto platforms

If you also totally didn’t understand the SCOTUS foreign aid ruling this morning and had no idea what Alito was talking about in his unhinged dissent, then go and read this from @stevevladeck.bsky.social

If Trump “eliminates” the Department of Education (which, to be clear, obviously he cannot do by EO), does that mean he’s also eliminating my student loans? www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

The only only actual problem solved by a social wealth fund is "our government is bringing in way more revenue than we are spending, and we want to avoid using that fiscal space to meet any social needs."

Every news outlet reporting Elon Musk's comment about accidentally canceling Ebola prevention efforts and quickly restoring them should also say they haven't been restored, they're still canceled, the outbreak-fighting teams are dismantled, the money is gone www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
