I finally got to watch the recent film version of William Burrough’s novel Queer on HBO Max last night and thought it was phenomenal. Daniel Craig was excellent, as advertised — but so were Drew Starkey and Jason Schwartzman and Lesley Manville. Highly recommended if you haven’t seen it yet. 1/3

Went to the "senior" #nokings rally in Edgewater with roughly 1,000 human neighbors and several very good doggos. Lots of older folks, lots of kids, several people using canes/wheelchairs/guide dogs -- it was great to have a protesting option that didn't involve marching for a couple miles!

If Senate Democrats like @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social @gallego.senate.gov and @schiff.senate.gov are still collaborating with Republicans to give Trump a crypto gift after this - they all deserve to be primaried. At this point there should be no collaboration w/ Sen Republicans. None.

I would add to this: It really, really helps if you learn how to use lists, so you can take control of whose posts you're looking at & when. In addition to feeds created by others, I've set up my own lists for favorites posters, personal friends, fellow performers, and various shared interests.

Bluesky feels incredibly busy and vibrant to me….becuase I follow a lot of people. Which you have to do here if you want to see a lot of action, because the site has no central algorithm. A startling number of professional tech writers still don’t seem aware of this basic aspect of Bluesky.

AirBnB never seemed safe to me from risk mgmt standpoint, but sleeping in a stranger's home has been normalized because there's an app. Hotels have safety regulations and inspections. AirBnB uses honor system (and common decency) & the property owners lied about having carbon monoxide detectors.
