It's official. Black Friday now lasts longer than Bonfire Night, Christmas and the DFS sale all put together.

And so, into the void, into the vacuum.....the old victrola coughs into life one more, and probably one last time. Look up and I'll be your brightest star....

Just two more musical outings to go before I can put my dismal collection of wassails and woeful festive fayre back in the padlocked box where they belong and we can start playing real music again. Bah humbug.

One of the very best friends I ever had, fine musician, amazing songwriter, and a beautiful man. I miss you every day, Trev, youtu.be/KuFjA0d6qbc?...

Troubling the neighbours with this on the old Victrola this morning........yee-hi!

Winding down the old Victrola

Boogie before bedtime

Rockin' the neighbourhood on the old Victrola right now.....

It's Made-Up Monday! Two young musicians have contacted me and asked if they can cover one of my songs, I am absolutely bowled over! This has never happened before, ever. I very rarely play any of my own music publicly, anyway, so this is a double delight! Totally humbled.

Sunday afternoon wind-down. Amazing collaboration between jazz ensemble (including Brubeck's four sons) and orchestra, recorded live at the Barbican as part of Dave's 80th birthday celebrations, still at the top of his game. Joyous and uplifting.

And o, the final ethereal colours as the lid on the old Victrola comes down for another day.

Ciaran is due to hit here at around 8:30. I am, therefore, turning my home into a sanctuary of calm and tranquillity to keep it at bay.

The old Victrola certainly creaks along this afternoon.......

This evening's chill down on the old Victrola. Incredible orchestration and arrangements.

Winding down on the old Victrola, the sublime Janice Burns and Jon Doran. One of the finest folk albums I have heard this year.

On the old Victrola today, just arrived, Seven Chambers, the latest from the magnificent Aussie Progmeisters, Unitopia.
