Looking North from Streatham Hill at the storm which is moving through North London towards Wembley. #timelapse #clouds

Quite humid today. After weeks of low humidity, the Southeasterly winds bring >50% humidity with 24ºC in London. Thunderstorms popping in Bucks and Oxon. Just out of reach. #drought

Elevated convection does tend to give some rather funky skies and this was on show earlier with this shelf cloud moving across to the south of Herne Bay and produced some lightning not long after this drone panorama.

Clouds promised much and then nothing at all. SW London #drought

On Friday, my son stayed home from school because he had a sore throat and wasn’t feeling well. He went with my husband to his office for the morning while I handled our daughter. When he came back at lunch, he was not interested in eating, saying his throat hurt too much. 1/n

Earliest flowering of the rock rose - last year it was the 10th of May. Petals are papery and only last for a day. There are many more to come over the next few weeks. #cistuspurpureus #rockrose

Absolutely spot on. Get Alistair Campbell back in government.

A line of thunderstorms moving ENE from Guildford towards SE London. Looks like they’ll miss Streatham 😥

I’m honoured and delighted to wear this U=U t-shirt, made for me by none other than Angelina Namiba. Undetectable = Untransmittable 😀🪡👕🇰🇪🇬🇧 #HIVSky @hivpa.bsky.social @bhiva.bsky.social @nat.org.uk

To avoid confusion please note today was the UK's warmest #MayDay (1st May) on record..29.3C Kew Gardens the high, surpassing previous record of 27.4C Lossiemouth 1990 It certainly wasn't the warmest 'May day' (ie period 1st-31st May as a whole) on record-that's 32.8C for the UK

It’s even worse than first thought the whole perimeter is surrounded and with portable toilet facility mere feet away from Stevenson screen. @theroyalparks this is shocking planning. The park is as big as 8.5 Wembley Stadiums, no justification. Image: @BBC__Watch

First half of May looking extremely dry here in SE England on tbe forecast charts, following just 1/5 of normal rainfall in March and 1/3 in April. Plants now moving into maximum water requirement phase - not a good combination!

April 2025 has done something no other April has done back to mid 20th century in London.

The copper beech opened its leaves yesterday. Green, red and furry edges caught in the lower evening sun. 💚

Confirmation of how unusual this week's warmth will become..well above the 99th percentile model climate...

Well done to Brittney Prusty, Stuart Flanagan & all the clinical research team for work on small volume blood testing for #HIV, aiming to reduce barriers to monitoring. Poster highly commended! 🥇 More to follow on this project, watch this space. @cnwlnhs.bsky.social #BHIVA25 @bhiva.bsky.social 🧪

I wrote about the devastating impact that international aid cuts will have on the HIV sector globally for @the-independent.com “We cannot sit back and watch this humanitarian disaster unfold. We must act.” www.independent.co.uk/voices/labou...

Apologies for being rather quiet on here recently, I've been having a bit of a social media break. Thanks so much to Silkstiniho, Blessed Weather, @daveosw16.bsky.social, and @paulblight6.bsky.social for your generous support to help keep www.roostweather.com going, it's very much appreciated!

Results from HIV Confident charter - still a lot of stigma and misunderstanding! On a positive note, 80% of HCPs would like more training! @bhiva.bsky.social #BHIVA25

Brighton putting on a show with heavy showers and sunshine this morning for the #BHIVA25 Spring Conference. Looking forward to diving in. #IDSky #HIV

What a relief this image is for gardeners and farmers. All the weather models agree it will rain tonight and the range is between 6mm and 17.5mm. So that's significant and will support plant growth over the next few weeks in what has been a very dry Spring so far in the Southeast. #rainfall #weather

Twink death 💀

Hoping the European forecast model is correct for Wednesday and London gets 10mm more rain. The American model has the rain petering out before it gets that far East. So glad I mulched the soil in February. #gardening #rainfall

Very different clouds from this morning to this afternoon. All cloud levels represented! #clouds

Weather models show considerable disagreement about temperature and rainfall for London on Easter Saturday. Can we at least have a dry one please? A barbecue at 8ºC would feel a little wild! 💦⛈️💨🌤️😎

31% humidity with 23ºC this afternoon. Parched ground with a long dry spell doesn't seem to prevent the air temperature rising higher, close to the surface. Less evaporative cooling. Some perennials that should be more resilient are wilting in the garden. #drought

While pharmaceutical companies pay for trials of their own drugs, government-funded studies are crucial because they can look at the bigger picture. The ACTG -- which now has its funding suspended by NIH -- been supporting HIV research for nearly 40 years. Here are a few of its notable studies.🧵

What is that grey stuff in the sky? London is... cloudy! Breaking up by lunchtime. Friday will be better.
