Using the discourse to re:up my second favourite semi-colon in All Literature. It’s from Scott Fitzgerald’s novella May Day. The first semi-colon in the paragraph is perfectly good, but the second – “She was a little tired; she wanted to get married” – is utterly gorgeous, and exemplary.

Big thanks to @rickburin.bsky.social & @theguardian.com for this, because it caused me to search WAGON MASTER out. I found it on Tubi & watched it last night. Gave a feeling like almost no other I’ve had while watching a motion picture. Easily deserving of its reputation. “Be gentle” is right.
