Albums this week: nothing new, but things I wanted to listen to, especially the composition on Fontaines, Wolf Alice, The National, and SK's "The Woods" - which is SURREALLY 20 YEARS OLD this week.

Can't sleep on this train as it has an awful flat spot on a wheel I'm near and there are no other seats. Booooooo

This week's listening! - new Pink Pantheress which was the bomb, lush. - 90s throwbacks of Suede & Hole - 25th anniversaries of All Hands on the Bad One & 100 Broken Windows - My TTPD supercut - More emo following last week's MCR. - Live from Johnny Cash & Radiohead.

This week: - Wretch 32: HOME? is exceptional - The Neil Young covers album has some marvellous versions - Never heard Stop Making Sense (live) and it's lush - Shopped to Wet Leg 🛒 - Model/Actriz was a great rec - First day back at work to How I'm Feeling Now (gets better every listen)

The week's albums: - Trapped in the 90s with Suede, Garbage debuts & Rid of Me - Loved "The Crux" from Djo - The new Self Esteem is *gorgeous* - Went back to Jamie xx's 2015 In Colour - Not totally diggy the new Manics Honourable ♥️ to @nickyreynolds.bsky.social for the 90s driving tunes on Tues.

I think people voted for you. There's got to be a little bit of remembering that people voted Labour as the least worse / most-if-not-perfectly aligned. A lot of people lent Labour their vote in the GE and this ain't helping.

Post your comfort album

Blackstar by Radiohead is going round in my head for no good reason.

Back on the album train after a fortnight of playlisting. - Some last 10 year classics in Lemonade, Pure Heroine, No Cities to Love & You Want It Darker - A couple of 2024 faves (Doechii & Magdalena Bay are better every listen) - Stellar new BCNR, and the gorgeous Julien Baker & TORRES album.

This week's albums! - New Perfume Genius is lovely. - A beautiful Saturday afternoon with the Daughter album. - Starting to go back through PJ Harvey's back catalogue into the summer Mainly playlisting next week, I reckon.

This week's music was very enabled by a couple of train journeys and a night on the sofa with the stereo on. - Physical copy of Emotion (finally!) - Some digging into the 2010s with The National, Metronomy, and a perfect Lorde record - Jessie Ware doesn't get enough flowers for "That! Feels Good!"

My two points: (1) OH CHECK YOU YOU COULD AFFORD A SNES IN 1993 TO PLAY MARIO KART (2) We also had the murder of Jamie Bulger

Had a lovely week (mostly weekend) of music. - 30 years of The Bends! - Mayhem is lovely on a second listen - Fantastic Playroom: one I have memories of an old trip to Melbourne, walking around with it on an iPod Nano - I blame a colleague for the Pavement

I love that there's no logic to which CDs the PlayStation 1 will play. Just gave it a new 80 minute album - no issue. A 55 minute one? Bite me. A 45 minute one? Fine.

The Bends may be 30 years old but when you've been skipping Planet Telex for 17 years...

Good morning from the Charli XCX subreddit www.reddit.com/r/charlixcx/...

WILLIAMS yes it's the power of Carlos' hair.

Finally a normal week with proper hearing after the cold I had. Music!!!

@mckelvie.bsky.social Elastica's s/t is 30 years old this month, btw. Along with "The Bends" (this Thursday)
