Beautiful sunny afternoon spent in Holyrood Park with the ranger service. Very happy to find a Bordered Brown Lacewing, the first time I've found an invertebrate survey target 😎

Whilst waiting for my bus back to the city centre I thought I'd take a picture of the Dougal Haston Stone. He was a Currie lad & a world class climber but tragically died aged just 36. It would be great if the plaque could be cleaned up to make the text easier to read.

Enjoyed my Monday morning wade with @wolct.bsky.social on the Currie stretch of the Water of Leith. Low water level but still slippery in places. Great to get some litter picked whilst a Dipper watched us.

Fantastic achievement by Hibs Women's Team, many congrats to all the players and backroom staff #GGTTH

Day 6 of our A to Z bus challenge; F for Forfar. The mural depicts the witch trials that took place between 1661 & 1663. Some 22 women were found guilty & executed.

Beautiful May morning for a beach litter picking session with @seabirdcentre.bsky.social at Morrison's Haven.

It's been great to be back with Love Music Community Choir practicing at the Usher Hall on Monday nights along with 330 other lovely folk.

It brightened up nicely for a wade and litter pick with @wolct.bsky.social between West Bowling Green Street and Haig Lane. Thought I would take a quick selfie for a change.

Five ways junction on the north Edinburgh cycle network, full of birdsong this morning (Song Thrush, Robin, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Wren, Wood Pigeon & Blackbird).

Was in Glasgow yesterday and went past the cycle path on Victoria Road (on the bus to East Kilbride) & it was great to see young children cycling with parents. It gladdens the soul.

A lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon 💪😎

Ridiculous that there's a 30 minute wait for @lothianbuses.bsky.social 11 bus into town. It seems to me that @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social & @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social need to try much harder to give public transport priority in the city.

Beautiful sunny weather for a @wolct.bsky.social wade beside Murrayfield seeking out Himalayan Balsam plants to destroy. Also bagged some litter and traffic cones. Forgot to take a picture so have used one from Scottish Invasive Species Initiative website.

The cycle path was full of birdsong this morning, I'm always amazed at the power of the wren #Edinburgh

Always great fun volunteering with @wolct.bsky.social

Worked on the stretch of the Murrayburn between Heriot Watt campus and the bypass with @wolct.bsky.social today. A good haul of litter, much of it quite old & with 4 folk spraying, a good number of Giant Hogweed plants targeted.

Had a fascinating visit with @wolct.bsky.social volunteers to Seafield waste water treatment plant. Learnt a great deal, 5 million inorganic items screened out per year was disturbing 😕

A wee bus visit to Dundee and visited again 'A Fragile Correspondence' exhibition. Just loved this film about the Ravenscraig site at the V&A Dundee.

Interesting discussion last night with @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social Hopefully he went away clear about the frustration many of us have about the slow progress in building safe cycling infrastructure. I was also concerned about lack of resources for 2027 Grand Depart #spokesmtg

Chas is spot on here, active travel projects in Edinburgh take far too long to be delivered.

Looking forward to this later. Whilst I know the Roseburn Path issue is important, I hope we get sufficient opportunity to discuss other active travel issues that need to be addressed in Edinburgh.

Fantastic morning at Tyninghame beach deploying oysters and measuring those on the strings from last year. Great to see how many of last year's oysters have settled in #RestorationForth @wwfscotland.bsky.social @mcsuk.bsky.social

Out this morning with #RestorationForth deploying oysters at Musselburgh. Rather than sticking them to rope, we stuck them to stones. On the way back we found some oysters from last year looking in good shape @wwfscotland.bsky.social @mcsuk.bsky.social

Enjoyable ride this afternoon with @edcriticalmass.bsky.social highlighting issues in the Polwarth area that need to be addressed to promote active travel.

Damp morning for a wee ride in north Edinburgh and Leith. Plenty of birdsong to listen to, it gladdens the soul.

Two weeks after the boy's wedding and the flowers are still going strong.

Diary planning with an great pint at the Dreadnought, LCD Soundsystem playing in the background. An excellent way to spend a late Thursday afternoon!

Enjoyable but short session of oyster cleaning this morning with #RestorationForth @wwfscotland.bsky.social @mcsuk.bsky.social

Somebody wants to say hello, not entirely sure what would happen if the window was open!

Cool breezy Saturday evening for a bat walk with Graeme Walker. Just one common pipistrelle and a tawny owl spotted. Thanks to @caltonhill.bsky.social for organising.

Breezy, cool damp day for a visit to North Berwick. Loved watching the gannets diving for fish and spotted a single razorbill. Happy to get replacement circular coffee cup from @seabirdcentre.bsky.social

Fascinating & very enjoyable session today on Carrion Beetles organised by the Holyrood Park rangers with @ashwhiffin.bsky.social

Day 5 of our A to Z bus challenge; E for Eyemouth. Not the best weather for time at the seaside. The memorial commemorates the 129 men lost at sea on 14th October 1881, a tragedy the town took many years to recover from.

Another wading session with @wolct.bsky.social this morning on the stretch between Redbraes weir & Newhaven Road. Picked 2 bags of litter over 20 metre stretch, wet wipes etc aplenty 😞

Beautiful spring morning for litter picking with @wolct.bsky.social on the stretch of the river downstream of the city bypass.

St John's Church looking lovely in the spring sunshine. Hopefully it'll be like this on Thursday for the boy's wedding.

Enjoyed singing with a #Pianodrome scratch choir at the opening of the gasholder park in Granton today despite the chilly breeze.

A grey breezy afternoon for litter picking with @seabirdcentre.bsky.social & @scotcoastclean.bsky.social at Musselburgh. The sun unfortunately decided to have the day off 😞

Enjoyed my #RestorationForth oyster cleaning session at Heriot Watt today. Thought I'd share before and after shots.

Sunshine on Leith today for the monthly @wolct.bsky.social clean up. Didn't manage to get a spot on the boat, however did act as another pair of eyes to guide them to rubbish.
