Google AI search -- everyone's really -- boils it down to boring cliches

Trump is aggressively stepping into areas he has no business going. Like Ukraine (us) v Putin, we must fight on the theoretical ground first. Today's locally organized mass protest is a great start.

Smart move: "They also moved away from focusing on massive demonstrations, like the 2017 Women’s March on Washington, to instead plan dozens of local gatherings in communities large and small." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/05/u...

Fresh air. Deep breaths. Good for the mind and soul. Then attack.

When people don't stand up to bad leadership, it's rarely because they don't care. It's often that they feel powerless. Learned helplessness is the pattern of giving up when we learn that events in our lives are beyond our control. The answer isn't to accept defeat. It's to find sources of power.

We need reporting from the trenches among the people affected by these policies. Not hot takes bouncing like a yo-yo every time the puppet master pulls a string media's puppet master pulls some strings

Question for @nytimes.com editors: Why does every headline have Trumps name. As in "Trump Tariffs..." "Trump's Science Policies..." "Trump Commutes the Sentence...". Many more.

This in David Firestone's @nytimes.com oped re Trump's anti woke policy and dumping of Stefanik -- "They want changes in their lives, not changes to the exhibits at the Smithsonian. They aren’t getting that, and Stefanik is one of the first to pay a price for it. There will be many others."

I feel like it's non productive to compare how things were in the past given that we live in a different time with new -- or no -- rules. Let's focus on why it's wrong now.

Actually surprised that Putin wasnt included on the call

I read PWR made over 2 billion dollars last year. Is that true?

Of course it's not enough. Unless he comes out to aggressively fight the power he is irrelevant to today's conversation.

Cooper Flagg looks like a future NBA superstar. He may choose to stay in college He should stay. I tout him as the new Larry Bird, but another year at Duke would help the 18 year old. He's making a ton of money anyway now that high school and college make appearances and sell merch.

www.nytimes.com/2025/03/19/u... Good move Tim. Everybody hates Musk. Let's pile on while he's still around. He's taking the heat for Trump. They're already pushing him into the background. Podcasters like Rogan and Fox News are happy to have him because he's good for ratings.

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company. It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create. They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms. I’m happy to invest and/or help

When it comes to protest how about the media blacking out coverage of Trump for a day. No pix. No mention of his name. Given his attempts to control press access there's good reason for doing this. Thoughts?

The resistance needs a leader that can stand up to Trumpism and begin a campaign for the next election now. We can have rallies and make the kind of noise to let Trumpists know they can't steam roll us without any push back. #pushback

Even @wsj.com thinks he's nuts. Can't believe he'll be confirmed.

While I sympathize with the outrage over our so-called health system, I can't get behind calling Luigi Mangione a hero. If he wanted to draw attention to the problem he could have shot and injured him without causing Thompson's death. Then we would have Thompson around to answer for his crimes.

What am I missing here. I don't want an echo chamber. Algorithms don't do well with me. How do I meet the people I dont know I need to meet.

Either way, it's sad.

Or you can read one long form about what you really care about.

Did you know that no matter how hard you curate your stream, you're gonna be reading lots about stuff you do t care anything about. Me, too.
