@mrjamesob.bsky.social isn’t it about creating a situation where he can call some form of national emergency where he can grab more power to do more of his 2025 strategy with many Americans supporting it ?

Interesting comparison following the recent caller on @mrjamesob.bsky.social on @lbc.co.uk that historically Trump didn’t want to rent to black citizens in New York and now wouldn’t want Palestinian citizens of Gaza to live in buildings he wants to build in Gaza

@mrjamesob.bsky.social would it be possible to promote a ‘day off Amazon’ in the UK to see what impact that could have?

Is @natashaclark.bsky.social very subtly humouring @mrjamesob.bsky.social in the pre PMQ review today

'We have to lead from the front, otherwise we'll move at the speed of the most reluctant' Keir Starmer told MPs Britain will take a 'leading position' on Ukraine, assembling a 'coalition of the willing' after his meeting with European leaders on Sunday 👏

“We can traffick with Trump only with extreme caution while prioritising unity with our neighbours and the other old allies” Trump has told us who he is. Time to believe him and rebuild our future with Europe. Thoughtful analysis and warning from Max Hastings. www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

He is not just appeasing Putin, he is aligned with him. And every single client journalist, political shill & public/online cheerleader on both sides of the Atlantic is too. Against Zelensky. Against Ukraine. Against freedom. Against the most basic tenets of decency.

Listening to @mrjamesob.bsky.social this morning talking about bitcoin I’ve concluded that bitcoin is like snake oil without oil

Have I just heard @mrjamesob.bsky.social say that Farage has been greasing Boris Johnson’s passage 😳

Says a lot that about 90% of the traffic I’m seeing on X right now is absolutely convinced the British govt is about to embark on a mass programme of state murder of the elderly and vulnerable. What was until recently the town square of politics has become the preserve of the bad, mad and deranged.

Never mind “unbelievable”, her conduct was “unlawful”. Again.

There's public support for assisted dying so it may have happened sooner or later. But if it happens now I think Kim Leadbeater will be able to claim much personal credit. A less able, sympathetic and effective champion could easily have put off 30 or so wavering MPs. She'll have a place in history.

TERMINALLY ILL ADULTS (END OF LIFE) BILL SECOND READING AYES: 330 NOES: 275 Maj: 55 It passes- with a significant majority. Huge but somber moment in the chamber, the first time the Commons has voted for assisted dying. But there’s a long parliamentary passage to go.

As Nigel Farage tells Ukraine to give up all hopes of resisting Russia's illegal invasion, here's a reminder of where his real loyalties lie www.adambienkov.co.uk/p/nigel-fara...

Has ‘Colin from Portsmouth’ taken over @mrjamesob.bsky.social

The prime minister insists the "vast majority of farmers" will not be affected by changes to inheritance tax. Sky’s Paul Kelso breaks down the figures ahead of today's farmers protest. Very interesting analysis

Jeremy Clarkson is turning up to the protest tomorrow. A reminder that he bought his 312-acre farm in 2012 for £4.25million in HIS OWN WORDS so that he: *would not be required pay death duties on the land*

Geezer on @mrjamesob.bsky.social having a lovely time soiling himself about farmers inheritance tax

If any farmer the inheritance tax is going to affect passes his or her farm to his or her children and lives for seven years after that, there's no inheritance tax to pay. Calling it tractor tax is disingenuous. It's inheritance tax. And only the wealthiest have to pay it.

If the supermarket sector is saying the last budget will cost them £7B, what were the profits from the sector last year? The state should not subsidise the wages of workers in profitable business unless there are severe issues, like the recent pandemic

The protestors want to call it "the tractor tax" because calling it "the inheritance tax protest" would turn off public opinion. The tractors coming into London today, in fact, pay no road tax, no congestion charge, and no ULEZ. Exempt from all.

Am I missing the plot with the minor inheritance tax change to bring farmers closer to the rest of the country? Victoria Atkinson saying that while farmers may have millions in assets they may only earn £20,000 a year; if they are earning £20,000 a year they’re NOT DEAD 🤷‍♂️

A word on the Allison Pearson free speech row, and what she describes as a ‘Kafkaesque’ threat to it. We asked her on @thenewsagents.bsky.social to discuss. She said: ‘No. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.’ Gotta love a free speech warrior 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh God. A million years ago (that’s what it feels like) I used to play drums in a Rockabilly band. When I work out how to post videos on here I’ll stick up an old clip… 🤦‍♀️

Hello! Looking for new bluesky gang who care about the NHS! Twitter is a truly terrible place and I’m sure many of us were connected on there. Could you like and share this, and I’ll follow you back? Ju🤞💙
