It was disappointing not to make the break through for the Lib Dems in Nottinghamshire but what an incredible set of results elsewhere, beating our best case scenarios.

This is the face of courage and compassion. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking truth to power on behalf of the marginalized.

Broxtowe Borough Council have published the plans for the replacement for Bramcote Leisure Centre. You can see them on the Broxtowe Lib Dem website at www.broxtowelibdems.org.uk/news/article...

If you want to see the opposite of “obeying in advance,” here it is. Remarkable bravery by Reverend Budde.

The search for Nigel Farage in Clacton enters its 27th week.

I've received a leaflet from the Conservatives. There must be an election coming up.

The man in the automated message on the Manchester Civil Justice Centre phone number genuinely sounds unhinged. It only gets worse the longer you listen. Just wait for the bit about bailiffs. Who approved this???

I'm proud to be standing with Roz Savage, MP, voting for the #CANBill on 24th January. The future well-being of our planet and people needs this bill now. Thank you to Hugh Fearnley -Whittingstall & Dominque Palmer for your backing. @zero-hour.bsky.social

With all that is going on in the world isn't it time that you joined the @libdems.org.uk and got involved www.libdems.org.uk/join

Absolutely this from Ed Davey 👏

They have also nicked the name the Broxtowe Independents from an existing group of independents.

No sign of Reform here. The Labour split is between Corbynista's &Starmerites. The fallout will have a few days to run yet judging by some of the rumours over the weekend. It looks like the new group have nicked the Broxtowe Labour social media accounts.

If you’re struggling to decide who to support in this spat between Farage and Musk just remember that one is a nasty, ultra-right wing unprincipled multi-millionaire only interested in themself, and so is the other.

Last week I urged the SoS for DWP to reconsider denying WASPI compensation, pressed Wes Streeting for a social care plan, spoke out against river pollution, and checked on #EpsomAndEwell residents affected by the @SESWater outage. Sign up for my regular updates at: www.helenmaguire.org

The Liberal Democrats in 2024.

Labours proposed local government reforms are a full blown attack on local democracy.

Labour have betrayed WASPI women. Disgraceful behaviour from the British government.

Kemi Badenock's attack on the British invention of the sandwich. Invented by John Montagu the 4th Earl of Sandwich in 1762. It's so British that even the French don't have a word for it! Beef steak for lunch is common in Argentina.

🔴Keir Starmer Rejects Call for Fairer Votes Despite MPs Voting in Favour of Proportional Representation The Prime Minister is blocking reform after the House of Commons voted in favour of a more representative voting system, reports @josiah.writes.news bylinetimes.com/2024/12/04/k...

📣 "Slim profit margins pushed into the red" Instead of punishing small businesses and healthcare providers, the government should be going after wealthy tax-avoiding giants. These national insurance hikes need a rethink.

A Blue Sky question if I may. Someone has started following me. I haven't followed them back but a load of their posts (some in a language that I can't speak, others very anti-vax and fully of conspiracy theory rubbish) now appear in my feed. Can I stop this.

Following the announcement of an #ArlaFoods initiative to reduce methane emissions from dairy cows, several users took to social media to make false claims, questioning the safety of the feed additive, implicating #BillGates, and down-playing cows’ emissions on the climate.

Covid corruption commissioner starts fraud probe Well I hope he gets a lot of our money back after the Tories and their PPE corruption.. And I also hope some of the profiteering wrong 'uns go to jail Let's see. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Pleased to be in the top 5 of @libdems.org.uk contributors in Parliament! I will always use my voice to champion the issues that matter most to our community. Whether celebrating Bath’s wins or pushing for support to overcome local challenges, it’s a privilege to represent our wonderful city.

After a bad few weeks for democracy the people of South Korea have shown that it is still cherished. Well done to every MP, every protestor and every ordinary person who said "No" to the attempted coup.

So I've had a few days away to rest and recharge my batteries. I'm back to resume the fight for freedom, fairness and equality. All that is needed for evil to win is for good people to stay silent. I won't be silent.

It looks like the bots have started arriving. I've been followed today by two pretty girls who I don't know and who follow 1,000 and 1,200 people respectively and yet haven't posted a single thing themselves.

Today is Ask Her to Stand Day. I'm passionate about getting more women involved in politics. We stand on the shoulders of women who came before us and fought for our rights - we must continue to make women's voices heard. If you know a brilliant women #AskHerToStand today. #5050Parliament

Liberal Democrats have been leading the fight against sewage dumping water companies. Today, in the Lords the Government has agreed with our calls that OfWat should ban bonuses for water company bosses who have allowed dumped sewage into our waterways.

This is such sad news to wake up to. John Prescott was a giant of a man in every way and real character of British politics. My thoughts are with everyone who loved him today.

Proud of my colleague Roz Savage for bringing this important bill forward. I'll be there on 24th January to support her.
