The American Right: "We would have a preferred a pope who ignores Jesus. Like we do."

Though actually, that would be pretty awesome.

Have to say, I wouldn’t have predicted this. Nice, MSFT!

Page One must have been crowded. So NYT puts it on Page 13. 🤡 @schooley.bsky.social

A strong letter! Yay! A strong letter!

Of course. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/u...

Is 20 hours the typical length of time it takes to die after encountering a demon sent by the Antichrist?

Also, feminism has shown the way! Subsidized childcare! Robust, paid parental leave. Tax credits! Reproductive freedom. Universal healthcare. Until they make the world better, there is little incentive to have kids (though they are adorable lil munchkins)

Mohsen Mahdawi of White River Junction, Vermont was illegally detained by ICE during what was supposed to be the final step in his citizenship process. Mr. Mahdawi, a legal resident of the US, must be afforded due process under the law and immediately released from detention.

What do these corporations have in common? Netflix Ford Tesla T-Mobile Duke Energy DISH Network Metlife Dominion Energy United States Steel In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes. This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

I heart @brooke — telling a suicide bomber who blew up the economy due for no reason that he is brilliant is peak beta chode for Ackman.

Prediction: Today (4/9/25) registered the greatest ill gotten gains from insider trading in history.

Failed the Lando test

You know, Kristi, you’re not supposed to point your gun at the head of someone on your own team. It’s dangerous, bae.

Do you hear the people sing for democracy? We are the resistance, 5000 strong! Unbelievable turnout today--keep coming every week! #HandsOff our country! @indivisible.org @leahgreenberg.bsky.social @ezralevin.bsky.social

Hey #newyorktimes, why are you burying coverage of yesterday’s Trump protests? FFS. Read the room.

Don’t blame just Trump for this. Blame every congressional Republican. They own this tariff disaster too. In fact, they own every stupid, ignorant, cruel, authoritarian, un-American thing Trump does. Cowards. Enablers. Accomplices.

Thank you, #SenatorBooker. At long last, someone other than Bernie takes a stand.

Never mind about the national press club donation below. Fuck them.

Bingo

NYT: It’s “not clear” if Trump even knows about the visit?????

That’s a sell.

They DELETED the files? 30,000 Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/18/u...

Finally, something nice. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/18/s...

I once had a conversation with Franklin Graham in which Brown v Board of Education came up and he didn’t know what it was. So yeah, dumb.

You forgot rapist.

The dinner lately has become an indefensible conflict of interest for journalists. But #TheNationalpressclub needs the proceeds to survive. Best idea: sit it out and make a donation to the club and to public media or an organization fighting for journalistic freedom like the #OverseasPressClub

Commendable, particularly when the business of selling journalism is barely a business. Should be a model for other organizations unbowed by tyranny.

Climate change is a bitch.

Ok. Yeah. Bad. But let’s stay focused on the criminal syndicate dismantling the federal government. Then we can fix the Kennedy Center. This is what they do.

Ok whatever. Dissent and resist.

By ~2005, the Republican right had gone full fascist, so 🤷 bsky.app/profile/leed...

Assuming that ever happens, the con is to get you to dig deep into the report while the Trump cabal degrades constitutional provisions. Happy reading.

Every picture tells a story.

When AOC and Adam Kinzinger are both furious at Chuck Schumer, for the exact same reason, maybe you need to give up the idea this is just a backlash coming from far left activists.

Makes you wonder about a quid pro quo.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

I guess we finally found a hill the senate was willing to die on. Weldon is a nightmare—but, I mean, so were almost all of the other nominees. Odd.

It's almost as if a gibbering degenerate President with zero understanding of markets or respect for the rule of law who is engaged in moronic tariff wars and a wholesale betrayal of our alliances is bad for the market. Strange how that happens.

This is honestly just deeply embarrassing for House leadership. They didn't proactively coordinate an effective response, and instead of doing any reflection on their own role, they're getting mad at the people who at least tried to do something.

That’s right. 🇺🇦
