I'm looking to talk with folks who are tracking accessibility debt from audits at scale (multiple services and repositories). I'm working on a central view, but I think I might be overcomplicating things. If you've done this before, I'd love to pick your brains. I want to avoid Excel like the plague

Quick blast of the Laverne & Shirley theme tune for some Wednesday motivation. youtu.be/hX5OYb_ByYE?...

Brilliant news - MPs have voted to decriminalise abortion www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

What is wrong with all of these people, and all of the people funding all of these people

Credit where it’s due - I’ve had an encouraging response from my Labour MP on the EHRC’s response to the Supreme Court judgement on its definition of a woman. She has also added her name to an objection to the gov’s choice for the next chair of EHRC, due to past links with anti-trans groups.

It’s Monday morning and I’ve just used the word “thence” on a slack message, ladz.

I’ve had a blast every time I’ve gone to this. And they provide excellent brownies.

Wondering if the £12 or so I saved on a split-save train ticket is really worth it for the low thrum of anxiety you have that someone will get on at Derby and announce you’re in their seat.

Pretty sure Dido Harding was on the train I was on earlier. I couldn’t remember her name so had to google “test and trace Matt Hancock riding club”.

""We recommend that companies and authorities create exit plans for the use of, for example, cloud services, and that they also ensure that they have strong ownership of the data."" 👏

I’m watching parliament’s women and equalities committee grill Baroness Falkner and the EHRC so you don’t have to, follow along with this thread for a summary of what’s said

“Very few people know Python, and everybody, as you know, knows human.” I would venture that a lot of the big AI shills don’t know human at all.

The last two "big" announcements from Silicon Valley: 1) Figma sites: inaccessible mess 2) Apple Liquid Glass: inaccessible mess I can't actually remember the last time Silicon Valley came up with something that was actually good.

1 year of active work on it 2 years of making the case before that Overall, 7 years of engaging around and arguing for a strong #ServiceStandard for the German public sector. I am proud and glad servicestandard.gov.de is there. Public sector design work can be a drag at times. But it’s worth it.

Bluesky help - I'm wanting to do a sort of connected mindmap, something very visual, of inter-connections between people funding bad things, and who's influencing what political parties on issues, publishing papers, and other connected things What software is good (free or like low one off cost...)

I'm quoted in this article :)

Here's my Monthnote for May, in which I ask product folk: - How many versions of your roadmap do you maintain? - Are you using Copilot? If so, how? weeknot.es/monthnote-ma...

I remember watching a Penn & Teller (I think) thing about magic shows, years and years ago, and that a successful show requires the audience to be in on it, willing the magician to wow them. They know it’s not real; the enjoyment comes from how well the magician can obfuscate the mechanics.

Someone really needs to get on to investigating how much effort has gone into influencing police and CPS thinking about the importance of investigating every pregnancy loss in "catch a terrorist" level surveillance depth. And who put that effort together?

GDS archivists! I'm looking for any blogs, papers, business cases etc. on the case for transitioning government web content to the single GOV.UK domain (from back in the day 2011-13?). Also, any insights into how Departments were engaged to persuade them this was in their interests.
