Cuando se van los coches vuelve la vida. Calle Murcia, Madrid.

THREAD: There’s a dire situation in Vietnam, at the largest Agent Orange spill in the country. When Trump and Marco Rubio cancelled foreign aid, froze funding and began dismantling USAID, those who were cleaning up the Bien Hoa air base had to halt work. 1/

🔴 NEW 🔴 The Heritage Foundation, the group behind the radical pro-Trump Project 2025 agenda, held a private discussion this week about how to dismantle the EU. 📝 @desmog.bsky.social report 👇🏻

Just been back to the UK for a week and been reminded of everything good about the place. The food was amazing (crab linguine, mackerel paté, smoked haddock fishcake, Conwy mussels, welsh lamb, sausage and más, fish and chips and good old mini pork pies 😀) and everyone was chatty and funny and warm.

Absolutely shocking by Trump. 👇

With Netflix's Apple Cider Vinegar highlighting the potentially harmful consequences of the cancer wellness industry, here's an article contributor Leah Hardy wrote for That's Not My Age about her own treatment & why cancer wellness can kill... thatsnotmyage.com/beauty-at-an...

Happy Shetland Day to all who celebrate

It's not often you see a TV drama made about someone we've interviewed! @sussexbylines.co.uk interviewed investigative journalist Nick Davies in 2020, as part of its Defenders of Democracy series. Now David Tennant is playing him in ‘The Hack’, about on the UK's notorious phone-hacking scandal!

Spain and Portugal power the EU economy. Very impressive and words I never thought I would read. So glad to see things going so well on the Iberian peninsula these days. Italy doing well too. www.portugalresident.com/iberian-mira...

Absolutely spot on from Rory Stewart

In Cymru (Wales) and for Cymry (Welsh people) throughout the world, today (25th January) is Dydd Santes Dwynwen – St. Dwynwen’s Day. Dwynwen is the Welsh Saint of Love. Dydd Santes Dwynwen Hapus i chi gyd! ❤️❤️ Happy St Dwynwen’s Day to you all! ❤️❤️

Ooo, nice surprise: PLR statement, monies earned when people borrow my books from the library. Please remember that a) libraries are amazing, b) that you can get books for free, and c) that the author gets royalties when you do. Keep your library going, and get your fave writers some biscuits :)

And those of you who aren’t marmalade-makers, I must advise you, while the Seville oranges are here, just to use their juice anywhere you’d usually use lemon (or lime) juice. Fantastic with fish – and so much more besides!

Had forgotten the tediousness of travelling down to Málaga on the train on a Friday evening , surrounded by stag/hen weekenders. God knows they're bad enough in the city but being trapped on a train with them is 🤬

I was completely pole-axed by this. It’s a breathtaking achievement to depict such pain so exquisitely. And it’s strikingly sui generis. Olia deftly fuses war reporting, food memoir, an enquiry into identity and an act of resistance to create what seems like a painting out of words

Did your child lose their book collection in the Los Angeles fires? Are you a teacher at a school that lost its library or your classroom library? Whether you need one book or a whole library, we can replace your books. 📚 Everyone else, please boost this post so we can connect with those in need. 🙏

Blimey, it's freezing in Madrid this morning. Had the Big Coat on for weeks, now had to break out the Big Big Coat

I am a former incarcerated firefighter. I served in a California fire camp from 2009 to 2012. Misinformation is afire on the internet, so here are facts about the prison firefighter program, all in one place. A thread.

Managed to get to the end of the first week back post -Xmas. Thought I deserved a little treat...none of that astemious nonsense for me in Jan 😀

This is a good tool, although perhaps no great surprises
