The Popeye movie came out in 1980. I saw this movie when I was a child. And as an adult, knowing what I know now, this is absolutely not surprising in the least. Weirdly enough, it's a very precious and caring adaptation. Snow buffet aside, Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall did the damn thing.
