🚨 Reports indicate a large wave of Ukrainian drones flying over occupied Enerhodar and Berdiansk, heading toward occupied Crimea and the Kuban region.

One interesting aspect of operation "Spiderweb" is that the Kremlin doesn't know if Trump approved it which would make Putin go crazy. Common sense tells you that Ukraine would not risk leaking the plan given current relations... (video of burning Tu-160s at the Belaya airfield) #OSINT

In Ukraine, the operation quickly drew comparisons to some of the most uplifting moments since 2022 – including the sinking of the Black Sea Fleet’s flagship Moskva, the attack on the Crimean Bridge, and the surprise incursion into Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

Ursula von der Leyen, "Opponents of our open, democratic societies have rearmed and mobilised" "There is no more impressive example of this than Putin's brutal, ruthless war against Ukraine" "Therefore, the need to invest in our security is becoming ever more urgent"

#Nafo Remember, when you see a Ukrainian, follow that Ukrainian.

🇵🇱👀 Poland’s presidential election has come down to a stark ideological choice: a liberal pro-European mayor VS a staunch nationalist conservative, - AP 🇺🇸Trump has thrown his weight behind the nationalist candidate, Nawrocki, and said about closer military ties if Poles choose him over Trzaskowski.

We have rain today in Kyiv 🌧️ 🎧 That beautiful moment when it’s not drones or missiles exploding above your head, it’s just thunderstorm in May❤️‍🩹

This should terrify every European who believes in democracy and the rule of law. The US state department, whose soldiers occupy bases on European soil across the continent, is effectively calling on its "civilisational allies" (the far-right) in Europe to turf out centrist governments.

In today’s Vatnik Soup, I’ll introduce a Russian movie director, propagandist, and former priest: Ivan Okhlobystin. He’s best known for his strong support for the war on Ukraine and for his radical views, which are often used as a testbed for the domestic Russian audience. 1/20

🤝 A clear majority of EU citizens back the continued financing of weapons deliveries to Ukraine, survey says.

The Netherlands has exposed a hacker group that collected information about the purchase and production of military equipment, as well as about the supply of weapons to Ukraine. nos.nl/artikel/2568...

"Above all, Europe needs to overcome its learned helplessness and act like the great power it is — especially given America’s apparent determination to destroy the pillars of its own strength." "If Europe doesn’t rise to the occasion, leadership may move to China instead."

Russian state media in return openly mocks Trump for his statement.

So Trump just admitted he’s been protecting putin all along. “If it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to russia.” That’s not a threat. That’s a confession.

There have been a lot of cases where world leaders hated each other. Thatcher and Mitterrand. Obama and Netanyahu. Berlusconi and Chirac. All hated each other. But they all swallowed it to work together. Trump's inability to swallow his personal disdain of Zelensky underlines how unqualified he is.

Ely Ratner calls for a new, formal alliance, a “Pacific Defense Pact”, to "bind those countries that are currently most aligned and prepared to take on the China challenge together: Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and the United States" www.foreignaffairs.com/china/case-p...

🇫🇷🇺🇸 Trump understands that Putin deceived him, reports Le Monde, quoting Macron. “What is happening in Ukraine is unacceptable and extremely serious. One cannot claim to be ready for negotiations while bombing. Such ambiguity reveals the insincerity of the peace talks,” Macron stated in Hanoi.

Anyone else notice that since the Russian invasion, European channels on tactical gear, guns, and their correct use from Finland, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, have risen in popularity and subscribers? I like this Finnish one.

Just a few years ago Macron made some extremely painful spending cuts to the French armed forces. He probably is regretting those a lot right now.

“In the face of fears of American disengagement from Ukraine and the prospect of a long-term Russian threat, defence spending could be increased to 3.5% or even 5% of GDP.” www.vie-publique.fr/en-bref/2987...

Conclusion is somewat in the "No Shit, Sherlock" category. The most fascinating thing about the Nord Stream sabotage is still how many journalists that are willing to believe it was blown up by scuba divers in a sailing yacht.

Can't believe I forgot about Taiwan.

Nuclear Weapons in the Trump - Putin Era www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6ux...

❗️Apparently, Ukraine will receive Taurus missiles. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz Merz said that Germany, France, Great Britain and the United States have lifted range restrictions on military supplies to Ukraine - Kyiv can attack positions throughout Russia with long-range weapons.

Being a Ukrainian be like: getting texts asking for your home address - when you shared Russian missile parts were found in your neighbourhood - from what will turn out to be a Russia troll. surely that was just to send me some flowers

The thing that matters most to me in a post-war Europe is a Ukrainian membership of the E.U and Nato. At the very least, we have to achieve one of these within 5 years of the war ending.

I wonder if Ukraine will also have a post-war baby boom. Lots of countries have one after fighting a war.

A modest suggestion: The White House should mind its own f__ing business.

Funny, not funny.

Sure thing. But I would really like to ask Sam Seder one day how promoting Holodomor deniers helps Americans get a public healthcare system.

I wonder whose fault was for making it obvious that Taiwan won't be defended.

Almost every geopolitics and security analyst I read and follow is convinced that a Chinese invasion of Taiwan is by now inevitable and will happen before 2028.

The Russian press claims that Putin’s helicopter came under heavy attack on May 20, when he made a visit to Kursk. Russians claim that the Ukrainians tried to shoot it down with drones, but they were intercepted. Is this an excuse for yesterday’s attacks? If not, it’s a pity they missed.

Russia amasses troops near Kharkiv region border, signaling potential new offensive #Ukraine

🤣

I knew a Hungarian anti-communist dissident, a friend of my dad, who put it best: "When you actually live under communism, there is only so many times you can complain that it isn't real communism, until you realise the real communism was what you have struggled against all along."

I honestly really hate that narrative. Why is it that everything that is authoritarian has to always be branded as rightwing? Even when came out of communist regimes. Why is it so hard for some people to accept that leftist authoritarians are just as real as the rightwing ones?

Step 20

I want to talk more about this remarkable interview that @caolanrob.bsky.social did with European Parliament member Fidias For two reasons First, it is a concentration of pure form russian garbage tropes Second, how to handle the spreaders of russian poison 1/16 www.youtube.com/watch?v=qe5B...

Congratulations, you are going to be on the terror watch list.

We reached the point where the German far-left now blames terror attacks and mass stabbings on Ukraine.
