Ah yes, I remember when the boys in junior high were giving each other titty twisters and calling each other “gay,” ALL the teachers & parents said it was the very essence of healthy phallocentric communication and strongly encouraged them to keep those lines of healthy communication open. 🙄

The Western Tanager made me a #birder in 2020. I was of course aware of #birds but hadn’t truly *noticed* them & had no idea such brightly colored beauties visited us. Now each year I’m ready for them with oranges, peanuts & #bird jelly. They’re delightful! #colorado #nature #wildlife #animals

2 years ago I trained for the least probable thing I’ve ever done: I ran a half marathon at 57 to honor the kind stranger who saved my life via heart transplant! I saw this old training video today & it’s a great reminder I can do hard things. So can you! 💚🏃‍♀️ #donatelife #running #runner #heart

Had a wonderful trip w/ my 84 yr old Mom, whom I hadn’t seen for 18 mos! I recorded a 5-hr oral history of her life & in turn my own using the Life Story Interview Kit. I learned fun new things about her & heard stories I’d never heard. We laughed, cried & grew even closer. Highly recommend! ❤️

Was hiking with a fellow heart transplant recipient in Rocky Mountain National Park when we came across a snow 🤍. 5.6 miles, 1600 feet of elevation gain, 2 new(ish) hearts, 1 found heart & countless laughs made for a gorgeous day! #donatelife #hearttransplant #hiking #coloradolife #getoutside

Every Memorial Day weekend, I think of my Papa although he didn’t die while serving. He was an officer in the Navy who did a tour in the Pacific during WWII. He died when I was 2 & I don’t remember him but was taught of his love for this country. I’m trying to save us too, Papa. I’m so sorry. 🇺🇸
