We're moving our cell phone service from T/Mobile to Tello — which uses the T/Mobile network, so we expect similar coverage with perhaps lower priority during busy times. We're switching to get a 60% lower bill, and better VoWifi support to use overseas with a local eSIM.

Public Service Announcement: Measles is still spreading out of control. Its just that we're haphazardly testing, handling vaccination drives as heroic efforts in individual cities and towns, and the CDC is not publishing even what data there is.

My phone just sounded a jarring emergency noise. It said Silver Alert for an endangered adult, and included a bitly link. I could see it displayed on top of the lockscreen. I unlocked the phone... and there is nothing. I guess I was supposed to memorize the bitly link before unlocking the phone.

Kudos for trying to comply with the Records Act and retention in their use of Signal to communicate war plans. It maybe resulted in leaking all of those conversations to adversaries, but their intent was noble. <hand to ear> I am receiving word that their intent was not, in fact, noble.

I'm worried that Signal may be severely damaged by all of this. Not by hacking, they were already targeted by nation-state attacks. I'm worried that popular opinion will work against them in ways that Signal is less prepared for.
