Saw someone say, "End your friendships with people who are going about life like nothing is wrong." I will never understand people who think that further isolating ourselves from everyday people who don't get it is going to save us. It's not. Your judgment and disdain will not save us.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Sahar. Sahar had just finished her studies and internship in marketing before the war. She has 4 children, Hala, Royal, Odai and Talin. They lost their home and are living in a UN shelter, Odai was shot by a paracopter and has a leg injury.

Israel destroyed 83% of plant life in Gaza by June this year. It destroyed 70% of its agricultural land. It damaged or destroyed 65% of water tanks and 47% of groundwater wells. Israel has deliberately tried to make Gaza uninhabitable. This is genocide.

I am sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Alaa. Alaa is a very talented (see video) engineer who worked at the University of Gaza teaching design. She has twin 8 year old daughters, Ella and Ellen and their brother 10 year old Mosa. Mosa is injured from the bombing of their home.

Some people here seem to think Bluesky is better than X (or Threads) primarily because users here are more open-minded, more polite, more reasonable, more respectful, less rude, less hateful, less fascist, or some versions of that. That view, I think, is not productive. In fact it misses the point.
