A pencil #drawing of an orange that looks so realistic, you might think it’s about to roll off the page!

Gary Lineker, "What's going on there (Gaza), the mass murder of thousands of children is something we should have an opinion on" Amol Rajan, "The BBC needs to be impartial about it" Gary Linekar, "Why? It needs to be factual"

The idea that trans women should use men’s toilets, and trans men should use women’s toilets, is completely absurd and unworkable. Research has shown that half of trans people fear using toilets as it is. All of this will simply help drive trans people out of society.

My pooch has been deaf for some time, but now he is blind too. He gets plenty of hugs, many of them ad-hoc, as he's retrieved from some corner he's got himself stuck in.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

Just read and loved ‘The Clearing’ (aka ‘Blood Traces’ in some editions) by @simontoyne.bsky.social. I also enjoyed the first in this series (‘Dark Objects’) but absolutely tore through this one. Great storytelling, relentless tension.

I wrote a new piece for foreign policy. The US's postwar role as guarantor of Europe’s security is over – and may even turn adversarial. But Europe has an overlooked trump card. When it comes to manufacturing Europe blows the US out of the water. Thread. 1/ foreignpolicy.com/2025/03/07/e...

Did someone say… Happy Threads Day! 😱

This is next level! 💥

All the Colours of the Dark by Chris Whitaker is my favourite read of the last twelve months. It's stunning!

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

Thanks, Instagram, that's made social media easier. After rarely posting anything, and not posting for months, Insta messages me to say my account, or activity on it, doesn't follow community standards. It's now permanently suspended, so goodbye Insta and goodbye Threads! Confused but not bovvered.

In the movie, Pretty Woman, Vivian influences Edward to help safeguard a company rather than asset strip it. I don't see anyone having the same effect on Elon.

Worst. Episode. EVER.

This is how it’s done.

We're living George Orwell's 1984: IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

4 days in and he's definitely going to make it - I have no doubt. 😆

This week's book post included Notes on a Drowning by @annamazz.bsky.social's new alter-ego, Anna Sharpe. Exciting stuff!

Donold is blaming a plane crash that killed 67 people on “DEI” with zero evidence. He is attempting to use racism to deflect from the fact it is HIS fault. He had just removed 100 FAA senior officials. It’s been 11 days and there are 67 bodies in the Potomac in Washington DC because of him.

Definitely the first podcast in which I've been killed, buried, then dug up. Also, I enjoyed it.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

Remember, the Holocaust didn’t start with gas chambers in Auschwitz. It started with politicians dividing the people with “us vs. them”. It started with intolerance and hate speech. It started when people stopped caring, became desensitized, and turned a blind eye. Remember.

I visited #Auschwitz back in 2019. It was something I will never forget. I wrote this blog at the time. #HolocaustMemorialDay wp.me/p9Uqaq-5M

“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.” Diary of Anne Frank January 13, 1943

Trump, his government, and his sychophant followers are utterly despicable.
