I met Michael at SCALE 10x in 2012 and hung out with him several times at PyCon over the years. He initially struck me as someone who was very serious, but I soon got to see his fun side. He was always supportive and encouraging, and I will miss seeing him at PyCon.

The wind storm the other day took out the #Meshtastic node at the hackerspace. I hadn't had a chance to secure it better, and the weather report made no mention of high winds until they were upon us. Thankfully it looks like it's just the N-Type adapter that's broken. It had only been up for a week!
