Just looked at the latest Stack Overflow survey, and wow it's a hot mess. The questions about AI are written as if the replacement of all programming jobs with AI in the near future was a given, and they even have nonsensical broad questions like "how many programs do you use".

Wow. I had never thought of it before, but you can make a gauge of any shape in SVG using stroke-dasharray. Just set pathLength to the number of increments you need and then set the dasharray to have a line of X increments followed by a gap of whatever remains.

I don't think I ever opened Epic Games Launcher without it asking for my password and two-factor verification despite me checking "remember this device" every time, and having to reboot multiple times to install updates 🤦

I've been wanting to recreate the Kingdom Hearts HUD in SVG for a while and I finally got around to it. I'd like to make a web interface where you can properly run a gauge simulation, to demonstrate how the Charge and MP gauges behave.

The horrible taste of ranch Takis only better highlights how much of the greatness of Takis comes from their texture. (I really don't understand why they even try, to me corn chips just never will go well with ranch. I'm also still mad I can't find the sweet chili Takis where I live.)

I like working in JS because I know it very well. But wow, sometimes I look at my code and think "wow this would trip up anyone not familiar with JS". You gotta love how all four of these lines are valid. throw TypeError; throw TypeError(); throw new TypeError; throw new TypeError();

Programming utilities for Satisfactory is surprisingly confusing when you have machines called Assembler, Constructor, Generator... I wonder if that ever caused the devs of the game some headaches 😅

Decided to boot Resolve on a whim. Yikes. I really did put a ton of effort into editing this. Feels so wrong throwing all of that work away, but alas, by the time I was done editing it, I no longer agreed with my own script. Happened too many times, really.

I feel so legitimized when I see ads about Grammarly's generative AI. Years ago I had friends argue that relying on a browser extension that can scan everything you type was no different than relying on Google maps. You're trading privacy for convenience. But it's worse. You're trading your art.

Cookie Clicker fades out and fades in the music when it loses or gains focus. That's nice, I don't think I've seen any other program do that.

In other non-news, YouTube still doesn't let you disable the automatic translation of video titles and description which is often plain wrong. We tried to reach YouTube for comments, but the send feedback button has also been broken for over a year.
