This is such an important piece. Humans only ever want to make sense of the world they inhabit & sometimes our imagination fills gaps. We actively encourage suspension of disbelief in children ie Santa, Tooth Fairy. Offering patience & care to people when the narrative goes awry is so important.

I keep thinking about Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. The ending of the book, one of the main characters uses Ice Nine and basically kills the entire planet. When the other characters ask them why, they responded they just wanted to see what would happen.

This is false. Do not share or repost. Edward Kelley was convicted of plotting to kill FBI agents, and a judge ruled that Kelley’s conviction is not covered by Trump’s pardon. Kelley and is currently in the Blount County Jail awaiting sentencing, and recently gave a lengthy interview — from jail.
