Bernie Wrightson was rightly lauded for his unbelievable work illustrating Shelley's Frankenstein, but his work for Stephen King's The Stand made such an unbelievable impression on me as a kid. Along with another hero of mine, George Romero, Wrightson is forever tied to my memories of reading King.
