I hate that Pacroretty just scored one of the biggest Leafs goal in decades and my instinct is not to get excited until we find out if the offside challenge is coming.

Not exactly the period you're looking for if you're hoping the Leafs would come out flying and impose their will. But not a bad period if you'd settle for stealing a 2-1 road win.

The Maple Leafs have made the final six for the first time in the cap era! Things are going great!

Oh neat, I wrote this column exactly two years ago, I wonder if it's at all still relevant today: www.nytimes.com/athletic/451...

When you’re a Leafs fan and it’s spring and you check your emails.

I think Toronto fans have actually done it. They've been trying so long to perfect the balance but I think they may finally be there: Trying to troll them from the outside is absolutely pointless. There's nothing I can say that will make them any angrier than what their fellow Leafs fans are saying.

I ranked every Leaf playoff loss two years (and nine losses) ago, but yeah, I think this might be the new clubhouse leader. www.nytimes.com/athletic/452...

Boo these losers off the ice please. And then boo them back on after the intermission.

After 72 hours of talk about this being the biggest Leafs game of the era, this start is not doing a ton for "this team is different" believers.

Has any gambling company ever made a good tv commercial?

Wearily gestures at the sign.

Ok but should I lay it on the line.

Embellishment?

Roughly 15 years ago, I made my TV debut on TVO’s The Agenda, on an episode about hockey violence and head injuries. I debated Ken Dryden. It went about as well for me as you would expect. Tonight, I’m back on the same show, with the same topic. Let’s see how far we’ve come.

Exciting finish to Game 1. Now all eyes turn to the Department of Player Safety, who'll review the Sam Bennett forearm carefully from all angles before deciding which Maple Leaf to suspend for it.

OK, yes, that should have been a penalty on Bennett for an intentional forearm to Stolarz's head. But look at it from the refs' perspective: if they call that, Paul Maurice might hold up some fingers at them, and then they can't call anything for the rest of the series.

Willie Nylander is the first Leaf to have multiple goals in back-to-back playoff games since Wendel Clark in 1994.

Actually kind of amazed their updating the odds in real time. This is way better!

Last call!
