Are we great yet?

Wow ..

My doctoral research confirms the content of this post, and worse 90 day remote for profit coercive control behaviour modification program where "abuse is the treatment", to quote one US lawyer

We're having a bit of a discussion here. #mentalhealth people, would you say this is stereotyping people with a mental illness? Yes? No? @dranniehickox.bsky.social @ivacheung.com @awaisaftab.bsky.social @mentalelf.bsky.social @transtherapist.bsky.social ?

Happy Mother’s Day to my mother, who wouldn’t have existed if my grandparents, in their infinite wisdom and love of children, hadn’t decided that having six kids wasn’t quite enough and went on to have two more, one of whom was my mom.💗

this is long and difficult, but well worth reading all the way through. this could easily be me. when i'm psychotic i tend to think that people are trying to trick me into eating human flesh and i get suspicious of food. i haven't ever gone into a home, but i've trespassed in yards and on porches

Essential reading: “People with untreated mental health problems are 16 times more likely to be killed during a police encounter than others approached by law enforcement.” Starved in Jail www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Prolific pseudoscientist, John Read—known by those close to him for his humility—is upset because he decided to troll my Blue Sky account and was told by several people that mental illness exists. Sorry John: In the real world where we help patients, we don’t tolerate anti-psychiatry propaganda. 😊✌️

Blind commitment to a theory is not an intellectual virtue: it is an intellectual crime. - Imre Lakatos

Schizophrenia exists. Mental illness exists. Psychiatric medications can be life-saving. Psychotherapy can be life-saving. Don't let misinformed people tell you otherwise. Enough with the anti-psychiatry propaganda and stigma. ✌️

Anyone who has a daughter or granddaughter will know exactly what this is about.👇 ‘A moment that changed me: my 11-year-old daughter received an unwanted compliment – and I taught her how to respond’ www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Silliness is genetic.

Immersing myself in some reading, or rather re-reading, for my upcoming trip to Charleston and V Woolf’s house.

Homeopathy and acupuncture for psychosis? I think I’ll pass, thanks.
