Delightfully acerbic, brazen, queer, pākehā, deeply curious about understanding our practices as Tangata Tiriti. through a colonial class lens. Honour Te Tiriti - return stolen land, dismantle colonial systems of power.

At least one of our political leaders is watching the real world events… #nzpol #OneTermGovernment #BrainDrainNZ www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

If you’re after a neat Mother's Day celebration, this isn’t it. But if you want honesty, history, and the stubborn beauty of resistance, you’re in the right place. open.substack.com/pub/jowrigle...

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. 🩷 This government didn’t give roses, they gave austerity with a pink bow.🎀 They scrapped pay equity claims. Silenced working mothers. Locked in a future where daughters inherit the same injustice. We will fight for equity, for our mothers and our daughters 🫶🏾 #NZPol

Our collective voice will be their political downfall. Their one term ends with us. This was the hīkoi that changed New Zealand. Te Tiriti Te Whenua Te Tangata ❤️🤍🖤 #TePātiMāori #NZPol #ToitūTeTiriti

The DG of Conservation now has the power to approve the killing of endangered species, if they get in the way of roads, mines, or other infrastructure “priorities.” It’s a law written by capitalism, passed by colonisers in suits, and signed with the blood of our disappearing species.

The momentum against seabed mining is growing. A new group opposing South Taranaki seabed mining wants voters to use local elections to embolden councillors against wannabe miners. #BanSeabedMining #ProtectTheOceans www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3606...

Workers’ rights, Indigenous rights - same fight. Austerity has no mana Mana for workers, mana for whānau, mana for whenua. #MayDay #NZPol

The possibility that Seabed Mining could now go ahead under the Fast Track shows how dangerous the Act is. 🧵

Consider the information that we get about USA, it used to be about interesting communities, culture, art, food and excitement. Now it's all mass shootings, threats against nations, individuals, and hate speechers - a political depiction of winner takes all power plays invites globalised scorn.

The craziest thing about this story is how this isn’t some new socialist entitlement. After WWII, a government benefit was standard for working people, and in so many cases, it helped them buy their first homes. #nzpol #UniversalBasicServices

🧵Give us this day our daily booze - Call it what it is: class performance. Working-class people drink, and it’s boozing, sloppy, embarrassing, a social problem. Middle-class people drink, and it’s winding down - a necessary self-reward after a hard day’s work. It’s not just about who drinks . . .

Incase you missed it the UK is lowering the vote to 16 years- and frankly after 70-80 years old politicians in New Zealand and the USA have been manufacturing culture wars and anti-democratic hysteria, this can’t come soon enough youtu.be/MiJ-5xi90fg?...

One of the small gifts of being disabled is that it makes you ruthless with your time and energy because you realise it isn't infinite So when I see transphobes or the anti abortion protestors I drove past the other day, I'm always like ...THIS is what you choose to spend your life on?

This is how I feel about NZ Labour most days.

important "Kia ora to everyone except for the media who keep saying Pere from ALL [Aotearoa Liberation League] is a Te Pāti Māori candidate, after repeatedly being told he is NOT a Te Pāti Māori candidate." @tepaatimaori.bsky.social IG, 17 April 2025

Im not one to support incarceration .... defo consequences for abuses of power is the first line to get across here.

Tomorrow, the House votes on the 2nd reading of the Treaty Principles Bill. And their decision will define them. 300,000 voices were clear. Te Pāti Māori will stand with the people for Te Tiriti, for the future.

It is a disturbing article and is only a tiny snapshot. It is easy to say that you don't know the commenters, but you do friends. They are not just bots from overseas, some are your dads, co-workers, and friends from the pub. They just don't say it to you, but that doesn't make them safe

Labour consistently fails to stand for anything concrete. It tries to hold the centre, appealing to both business interests and working-class voters, but in doing so it often just betrays the working class.

Some people are not safe around the police.

(Labour have had a patronising top down approach for an extremely long time)

Ugh! Chris Hipkins and his attempt to whakaiti Tamatha Paul Kahurangi Carter confirms that Labour is all about that colonial power. The kind that polices dissenting words and public spaces.

Tiggy.

The blobfish, often called the world's ugliest animal, was voted New Zealand's fish of the year in a competition organized by the Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust.

Israel has broken the ceasefire by massacring Gazan civilians in darkness. Israel turned from talks to utter slaughter, with the reported agreement of US President Trump. The attack killed more than 400 Palestinians, entirely without warning & without a chance to save themselves &their children.

Nothing good ever happens in the middle of the road. Pick a fucking lane Labour “Hipkins timid tack to the centre approach mirrors that of UK Labour under Keir Starmer. In an MMP environment where people are looking for passion and leadership I am not sure this is the correct approach.” #nzpol
