My daughter has the action- movie bug all of a sudden after years of showing no interest. Today we watched PREDATORS, and when the bad Predator ripped out Walton Goggins’ spine and skull in one pull she clapped and said “Slay, bestie.” Pretty cool way to cap off Father’s Day, I gotta say.

Predator: Killer of Killers is quite good, the first two segments are great. I do nitpick using a WW2 aerial battle for the third fight because as far as I know the Yautja don’t go in for that sort of thing. But I’d sure like to see more!

Issues with Maher aside, the problem with the "Hitler was uniquely evil" argument is that whilst he was unspeakably evil (obviously), he wasn't *uniquely* so. Leopold II, Andrew Jackson, Alexander Stephens, Henry the Navigator, Ferdinand and Isabella...all were just rebrands of the same depravity.

On this Saturday of Easter weekend I am compelled again to recommend @evandahm.bsky.social’s THE HARROWING OF HELL, a beautiful graphic novel depicting one of the most potent but least-discussed parts of the death/resurrection story. I read it every year about this time.
