It seems Britain can’t build. Not houses or hospitals or roads or trains or pylons or reactors or reservoirs or runways or data centres or film studios or factories. But how on earth did we get here?

America punishes saving children with field execution. #FreePalestine #GazaHolocaust

Shambolic. If teachers can use AI to mark, why can’t students use AI to write? And here we go: students not doing the work and teachers not doing the marking. Why don’t students not bother to go to school and teachers can stay at home? How about we all don’t get out of bed in the morning?????

the fact that people were told “today you are going to an elementary school to lie to teachers and kidnap kids” and didn’t immediately tell their bosses to go fuck themselves is all you need to know about why ICE should be dismantled

Dear USA Deploying troops against civilians will not go well. Yours Great Britain and Northern Ireland

First graders. If you voted for this you are a damaged person. I wish you no peace the rest of your days.

🔴I wrote about the anti-raids protests in LA and whether anything similar could ever take place in Britain. With the rise of Reform and the ramping up of Labour's enforcement activity, we ignore what's happening there at our peril. open.substack.com/pub/notanoth...

NEW | On BBC News bending over backwards for Reform… BBC NEWS AND THE REFORM REALITY DISTORTION FIELD The BBC wants to 'restore the trust' of Reform voters by changing its news output to better reflect their worldview. brokenbottleboy.substack.com/p/47-bbc-new...

This is absolutely reprehensible.

This is precisely correct.

Hugely enjoying Sam Coates pretending that no government has ever gone back on a budget decision that has proved unpopular and this is the most monumental political story ever. It actually took Baroness Warsi, the Tory panellist, to say "oh come on, remember the omnishambles budget?" So fkn poor.

Accords with my experience as well. A big part of why I spend less and less time on X is the sense of “well, what’s the point? I rarely see links to pieces and I rarely get feedback on my own”.

An officer in LA deliberately swivels round his gun at Australian woman news reporter speaking to camera - and shoots her in the back with a rubber bullet bsky.app/profile/whit...

Trigger warning: gun shots An officer in LA aims and shoots rubber bullets at an Australian journalist doing nothing but covering the police assault on protesters. When is Congress going to stop this federal overreaction? Call/email your Rep & Senators to demand action. youtube.com/shorts/-DYyo...

She is a tourist from Chile, and these cops left her teenage daughter on the streets of New York City alone. Why anybody would come to this country right now blows my mind.

The IDF has intercepted and kidnapped the Madleen because they didn't want it to deliver baby formula n other things like that to Palestinians who are experiencing starvation due to the Israeli government refusing to allow aid in. That's the story no matter how you window dress it.

This is worth reading. It's couched in neutral BBC language but ultimately it says what we all know. We're witnessing a genocide. And the whole international community is complicit.

Jeremy Bowen spells out the problem for Israel trying to deny war crimes: its own ministers have admitted to them www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Facts. Behavioural economics pretty clear on this one. And in the empirical policy space, the countries with compulsory savings (e.g. Australian superannuation or Singapore) are the ones furthest from the fiscal pension cliff.

The US/Canada/Mexico World Cup is a year away on Wednesday. There are some political instability risks to the travel & safety of international and US-based supporters

I'll keep posting this....

A really clear and vital piece of analysis in Jeremy Bowen's long piece about the Gaza war, which is too often muddied by almost everyone. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

🤣
