Meaningless fluff. For a government so obsessed with AI I seldom see them display any understanding of what it actually is.

Talks of harm mitigation and ethical AI are... meaningless. Completely meaningless.

Does anyone know of an GAI that doesn't require login and has no usage limits? Text to image and image to text would be the key things. Running a workshop and struggling to get something that doesn't max out for a group.

Ok. How exactly

I have stopped being diplomatic in workshops and other settings--if you are going to use ChatGPT or any other AI to do work that doesn't need it at all, like thinking, writing, reading, etc, I will feel absolutely comfortable making my opinion clear.

😁

"Google’s AI Overviews now reach more than 1.5 billion people every month" is factually true but leaves out the true story. It's not that people _want_ false AI summaries, it's just that a monopolist can do whatever.

Good article and he's also been on the @acidhorizon.bsky.social podcast recently which is well worth a listen.

Not sure Anarchists are so big on protectionism tbh

I love Camberwell.

Why are the Falklands in the top 10 highest tariffs?

When young dumb tech guys told Miyazaki that they wanted to make a machine that draws pictures, he had the most succinctly perfect response: “I feel we are nearing the end of times. Humans are losing faith in themselves.” Get his beautiful name out of your AI garbage’s mouth.

well this is maybe the most pathetic guy i've ever seen. and he is posting all this with his full name and face attached

It really is that simple❤️ #studioghibli #ghibli #hayaomiyazaki

Just found out TWO AMAZING FUN FACTS 1) tomorrow is “respect your cat” day 2) Thomas Hardy’s cat is rumored to have eaten his heart

fyi this is Hayao Miyazaki's actual reaction to AI generated art and the fact that people did it anyway is detestable

Okay thanks

I do find a fair bit of the AI critical discourse a bit dismal. More than a few people with at least some prominence/position talk as if it's an unstoppable tide while ignoring their own agency to resist. Yes, you may not be able to conclusively win against bad AI mobilisations but every day you

Pam Bondi goes full fascist: "We are seeking the death penalty again. So all of these horrible violent criminals that you're hearing about around the country, they will face the death penalty federally. The drug dealers need to get out of here."
