I go through similar cycles when making video game "video essays" (I'm still not sold on calling them that) but releasing them is particularly daunting, the algorithm being what it is. Here's my latest one about the Mass Effect 3 endings. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEsk... #masseffect

Despite my dislike of Ubisoft and all the comments I have gotten in response for praising it... I still think Star Wars: Outlaws is just fucking beautiful. Maybe it's the sci-fi lover in me, but depictions of scenery like this are a cheat code to get my brain to think of something favourably.

On the vanishingly few occasions I go onto Twitter now I find myself blocking/muting a large majority of people I see replying to any popular post. It’s honestly a waste of time clicking on any gaming news because the top replies are full of those ghouls.

This is basically like getting a play button.

When I play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle it just gives me hope that one day someone will make a first person faithful Star Trek game in the same vein.

I want footage from a game for a video I'm making, but need to no clip out of bounds. The game is obscure so no such mod exists, so I've been trying to decompile the games files, modify the code and pack it again. Is this a constructive use of my time? (The answer is no)

It feels weird to say this as someone who loves talking about and hearing other people talk about games - but I’m kind of over a lot of online communities that just constantly ravage games. If I’m not interested in something, I simply don’t engage with it and have no interest in talking about it.

Horses on YouTube is a wonderful example of simple yet impossibly magnetic title/thumbnail combo.

People who get angry over the arbitrary numbers assigned to games in reviews by others are just like… what are you doing?

Has anybody ever wondered what a Pokemon movie inspired by Logan would look like where Ash Ketchum is a grizzled old man? Just me? #pokemon #art

“These 2 games were made x years apart” videos being recommended to me on YouTube are my newest peeve.

No British television chef has ever had more aura than Ainsley Harriott. Yes, that’s includes Gordon Ramsey.

Trying to figure out how to use Tik Tok is one of those "I feel old" moments.

God of War was on sale on Steam, so I will now play a God of War game for the first time ever. You may vent your disgust and disbelief below. #videogames #godofwar #gaming

Okay... what do my video game romance options say about me? #masseffect #draognage #baldursgate3 #dragonagetheveilguard #videogames

Here is my latest YouTube video where I talk about Cyberpunk 2077 again, on account of me not being able to stop thinking about it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLOA... #promosky #youtube #cyberpunk2077

With the future of Blade Runner 2033: Labriynth unclear, it's worth looking back on The Confusing History of Blade Runner Video Games. (that's conveniently the name of the video) #promosky #bladerunner #youtube

I don’t really know about how I feel about the term”video essay”, but after years of making videos I have started to make videos where I talk about video games. Here is a link and shameless promotion for one. The World Beyond: The Art of Backgrounds in Games youtu.be/rJppor3Q6hA

The urge to start yet another YouTube channel for videos that deviate slightly from the ones I’m making. #YouTube

I have apparently spent 2490 hours in Unreal Engine in my lifetime. And I've only made 1 playable thing.

Dragonage The Veilguard displays the exact same formula as every other BioWare game I’ve played; existential threat, gather a team of experts, missions addressing what’s eating them up inside so they can focus, defeating the big bad. But damn it, it hooks me in and works on me every time.

One of the best things about YouTube's A/B thumbnail testing is that I get to design multiple thumbnails - which is one of my favourite things to do. If I ever become a somebody I'd like to make an art book of them.

I have decided to go from having no followers on Twitter to having no followers on BlueSky.
