Today we honor Juneteenth, a reminder that freedom was fought for, not given. We must honor the past by continuing to fight every day for justice, truth, and equality.

On Juneteenth, we celebrate Black freedom, resilience, culture, and the enduring strength of community across generations. We acknowledge our nation’s full history and the long, ongoing fight for freedom and justice for Black Americans.

Juneteenth is American history. It honors the resilience of Black Americans and the unfinished promise of freedom. Let us celebrate, reflect, and keep working toward a country where liberty and justice truly mean for all.

Went to a “No Kings” protest today, so I made some signs. Over a thousand people (and their signs) showed up. The supportive honking was deafening. #NoKings #NoKingsDay

No Kings

This week, June 1-7, is World Ocean Week, which aims to initiate and inspire collective action to protect and restore our blue planet. The week culminates in #WorldOceanDay on Sunday, June 8th. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean

I’ve been invited to sign up for SO many classes & programs & art workshops & online communities. But I have no way to discern which one to pick. Where is the class for people suffering a 43-year identity crisis & who have lost traction with their old interests? I’m overwhelmed into paralysis.

You right. You right.

Rest in peace, Peter David, writer of comics and novels. Always helpful when I asked a question or sent a message. I knew he's had health issues. Sad to see this news.

I support creative endeavors that aren’t “for me” as often as I can afford. But it’s also helpful that intangibles like love, friendship, cooperation, and fellowship are “for everyone,” however they’re presented through genre, gender focus, or cultural difference.

Americans work more hours, take less vacation, work longer days, & retire later. But hey, at least we're not stuck with socialized health care.

While searching Shakespeare quotes for Memorial Day, “Praising what is lost makes the remembrance dear” - it occurred to us that the lesson is, if it is truly dear to us, we should fight to save it. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean #ShakespeareSunday #SaveCoral

Foxes have claimed the den under our shed, which explains the disappearance of chipmunks, squirrels, and rabbits. They are beautiful and fascinating to watch.

Just a reminder that I'm doing another round of kids custom drawings to help keep afloat until I can get paid for my next job in August. Digital drawing of whatever character you want in my kids or teen art style! If you're interested, drop me a message on here!

I watched a “futurist” extol the opportunities of AI. Her whole speech was garbage, ignoring issues like copyright violations/IP theft, energy consumption, and resource depletion. She was all for industry disruption and the rapidity of change. … How will she feel when AI inevitably gets disrupted?

Due to the dodgy way that all of us freelancers are paid: ⭐⭐ I am BRIEFLY opening up commissions ⭐ ⭐ The form is linked below. I will not accept requests via DM. I am logging out of bsky after I post this. christinelarsenillustration.com/commissions (reposts appreciated)

Today is the birthday of artist Howard Sherman (May 6, 1909-Dec. 27, 1993), a veteran of WWII and the co-creator of Doctor Fate.

Maybe we should honor the women who were real astronauts. From left to right are Shannon W. Lucid, Margaret Rhea Seddon, Kathryn D. Sullivan, Judith A. Resnik, Anna L. Fisher, and Sally K. Ride. NASA selected all six women as their first female astronaut candidates in January 1978.

Last night, I flicked a molecule of toothpaste into my eye, and it felt like a white-hot dagger. And I put that stuff into my mouth?!

A real hero. I wonder if the official government of the ignorant has begun to make her role invisible, as it has for many others.
