Schooling my 15-year-old on classic rock greats.

Facebook reminded me of thismemory 5 years ago when I made a list of replacement names for Army posts in the US. (Still a pretty good list, I think!)

Hypocrisy.

As an editor, I feel the need to copy edit the tweets (whatever they’re now called) of the current administration. Then I realize it would be a full-time job that most likely would be cut by DOGE anyway.

I think the US is mourning the death of George Wendt so profoundly because we all want to have that place they can go where everybody knows their name.

From now on, anytime I start to feel down about something—anything—I will simply look at this picture and instantly my mood will improve. (Credit goes to the photographer — you’re awesome)

So now that the Trump administration has flagrantly refused to comply with court orders, including those of the Supreme Court, where do we go from here? What are the next steps to preserve some semblance of democracy?

I miss Tom Petty.

I need hugs and French fries. In either order.

Hey journalists! We are starting a new publication at Morning Brew and I'm looking for two reporters. Subject matter expertise isn't as important to me as journalism experience. (We do have two other roles open covering IT and corporate finance, if interested) jobs.lever.co/morningbrew/...

We are hiring a pre-doc at Stanford to work on (among other things) a project called Public Pulse, which will provide reports on public opinion in the US, and potentially fill the void of things like 538. Please share with your undergrads. iriss.stanford.edu/predoc/2025-...

Wondering if anyone has mastered dealing with the constant flow of bad news without losing their minds or falling into a deep depression? I could use some tips.

Ever seen the movie “Canadian Bacon,” about an American president who wages war with Canada because he needs a war to improve his ratings?

I actually think the dems should attend the SOTU, wait till the 2nd sentence, and then walk out en masse, that'll do it, there'll be no address, he'll just have a meltdown on national Tv

Is there a petition or something we can sign to get them out of office?

I really hope the rest of the world recognizes that many, if not most, Americans do *not* agree or align with Trump’s actions, esp. as they pertain to Ukraine and Russia.

Eagerly awaiting the debut of “Jardiance: The Musical”

The nail salon I go to plays this weird selection of popular songs sung in a dreamy ethereal way. I Will Survive is now shoegaze. Because of course.

In this increasingly toxic environment we are living in, I am fighting back by being nice. Smiling. Looking at people’s faces when I talk to them. Holding the door open. Stuff like that. I feel a lot better and I think they do too.
