Couldn't agree more with this. It's jaw-dropping to see the patty cake people are playing with him after what was a full constitutional assault that, oh by the way, is almost certainly going to lead to tens of thousands of people in the global south dying needlessly.

Humans should be at the mercy of alligators and boa constrictors as god intended, not soulless pizza rats.

There are 2 types Minneapolis residents. One that remembers “A fully staffed MPD abandoned the city, assaulted press and protesters, incited crowds, made it worse. Generations of city leaders had flinched rather than hold the department accountable.” And one that believes the mayor’s narrative.

I will do basically anything to avoid buying a minivan.

The kids are all right. Even at Harvard. www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

In anti-authoritarian struggles, criticizing the regime for their blatant corruption is often one of the most important ways to mobilize the public and break through to regime supporters. The Trump regime is the most corrupt in US history—it’s worth repeating ad nauseam

Our pediatrician was startled this spring when we asked if she had any advice about traveling to get basic vaccines for our kids. Welp.

Urbanization had spent the last century pushing nature out of its spaces. It's time we redesign to nurture nature and make it part of our thoughtful design.

Just call it the Self-Inflicted Wound Era, when we took a bunch of stuff that was working largely fine (vaccines, weather monitoring, friendly relations with like 175 countries, cancer research, renewable energy credits, the FAA, global trade, etc etc) and just broke them for giggles

The older kids are finally ready for games a little more complicated than ‘roll these dice!’ And I’m so excited. Biggest favorites currently are Dragoon, My First Carcassone and My First Castle Panic and it is so so fun to revisit some of these.

Our post-Floyd reality in Minneapolis is that it's difficult to even have a conversation about an adequately resourced police department.

Corruption warps trade negotiations: “Vietnam’s government sees Mr. Trump’s administration and the Trump Organization as one.” “This pushes Vietnam in the direction of more personalistic business transactions, rather than those more invested in markets” www.nytimes.com/2025/05/25/w...

I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE A COVID BOOSTER YOU FUCKWIT.

if dems want messaging help, stop telling people you're "fighting back." it sounds like you're being mugged. call off the podcaster search, take your ridiculous money pile and try opening some food banks and free clinics. hurricanes are coming and the feds have no plan. looks like an opening to me.

But also we should relentlessly mock this. The king of the great deal got completely played! This dumb jet was sitting on a runway, they literally couldn’t give it away, but then they saw trump. You could paint a pile of dog poo gold and that man would grab it.

Kiddo asked me today if I did lockdown drills when I was a kid. I told her no, and was gut punched with the reminder that this country has been failing our kids for nearly 30 fucking years by just letting this become our normal.

Because resistance isn’t only about saying no, here are seven ways communities are building a future worth saying yes to.

The only way to make sure he is not lying is to keep pushing to make sure he has no money to spend.

If you don’t want to take the booster don’t. But to prevent adults from having the choice is depraved.

They're literally trying to keep people from getting the COVID vaccine. Commenting here is an easy and quick way to push back.

Ha! I have been swearing since he was announced as pope that MN reporters would be digging up a connection, any connection to MN. 🤣🤣🤣

Their strategy is to get curb-stomped by the Finns again? Ok cool.

I hate being sick.

We destroyed USAID for this.

The new Hennepin Ave is lovely.

Highly improbable and unexpected.

Is it bad that as a freelancer I ignore being sick until I absolutely can’t and then take a sick day where I still anxiously think about work and check my email once in a while? You know, it sounds bad when I put it like that.

On the one hand, I have to go see the latest Mission Impossible because it could be as awesome as MI4. On the other hand, I’m scared to go see the latest Mission Impossible because it could be as terrible as MI7. Decisions decisions.

So, like I said, we no longer have an actual foreign policy. Definitely won’t be a problem I’m sure.

Parenting: kid sobs in the backseat. Me: what’s wrong? Kid: I don’t want to talk about it right now. Me, internally fretting, did something happen at school, was someone on the bus mean? At home, me: what was wrong? Kid: when I said I wanted mac & cheese for dinner, I meant quesadillas. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

The early reviews for Murderbot are all excellent. *happy dance*

The United States no longer has a coherent foreign policy. We have the corrupt dealings of our president, which intersects with and produces some policy results, but which is only understandable looking at his personal interests, alongside the ‘national’ foreign policy, which is disintegrating.

Never lose sight of how weird and corrupt it is for the president to have his unelected, unconfirmed oligarch friend—his biggest campaign donor—conduct US foreign policy. No other US president did that, and there’s no reason to think he’s representing the American people rather than himself.

Uh huh. Like c-3po, sure.

Hey friends of the MCBL: We need your help! Last week a locked garage that was overflow storage for the library was broken into, bikes taken, & $2,800 in damage done to the garage. We have insurance on all, but need help w/ deductibles to get rolling. secure.everyaction.com/P8gtfpBnWkav...

Does anyone else have the ‘that’s democracy’ song from Galavant pretty much always playing in their head these days?

Women have always worked outside of the home in this country, especially after we industrialized. The 1950s idea of a housewife was very specific to a certain class and race, and it was very temporary. Lower class women and many women of color have always had to work.

Mother’s Day 2025: I try to contain my rising panic and despair about my kids’ future and desperately try to brainstorm paths out of this miserable cesspool of a country.
