My first time quoting an AI for a headline...what do we think about this concept? Are AIs quotable just like humans? www.pcmag.com/news/grok-ai...

All journalists covering Toyota this week: You alive? Can we band together and protest this PR onslaught

Excited to see my first brain implant next week at a secret lab in Brooklyn. Maybe I'll leave with one inserted and won't even know it

Related: Yesterday ESPN said it's gonna just call its streaming service ESPN. Maybe soon all streaming services will just have normal sounding names.

This is pretty cool. I want to see more of the ID.Buzz on the road! I've driven the one in the picture below. It's perfect for a fun, shared autonomous ride. Congrats to VW www.pcmag.com/news/uber-to...

Not Uber hyping its membership perks in NYC a month after it got sued by the FTC for this program being deceptive (not actually a savings, difficult to cancel)

HBO Min

AirBnB’s rebrand to an “everything app” for rentals and services just didn’t land at all. Feels like an obvious play to diversify revenue with no real direction

I think brain implants will be much more common in 25, 50, 100 years. Apple just added support for them to iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS and is already testing them on people. www.pcmag.com/news/apple-p...

This feels big! Shift from cable to streaming is accelerating

"Japan is very hybrid-centric as a country. In 2023, hybrids made up 55% of new car sales there, followed by 36% traditional gas cars. EV adoption is at just 2% of new car sales, or even lower than the US's 8% and far below the 20% + in China and Europe." www.pcmag.com/news/toyota-...

I was hoping for a new EV from Toyota's "big announcement" today, but it's only making some sorely needed updates to its existing one TLDR: It's way less lame now, but still not a much better option than others. Unless you're a die hard Toyota lover, then go for it www.pcmag.com/news/toyota-...

One of my infrequent reporting areas is hearing aid tech, which I love because it truly helps people. Eargo is a top company and they just put a new flagship device that is loaded with features and nearly invisible to the eye. Check it out for you or your loved ones: www.pcmag.com/news/tiny-ea...

As a former Chicago resident, I can assure you the city's massive Catholic population is thrilled about this new pope

Chicago Pope getting votes in the conclave like

This should be a much bigger cybersecurity news story, given it affects almost every school in the US and has been going on since December TL;DR - the kids (and teachers) are not alright www.pcmag.com/news/after-h...

Behold! @pcmag.com's tariff tracker, where we will be answering this question: "Is the cost to build a PC going up?" Most components are made in China, but so far the tariffs haven't hit yet—except on GPUs, and prices are going wild already. Follow along: www.pcmag.com/news/tariff-...

Not seeing tariff prices yet? Here's why. This won't last forever. You may want to buy now on items you know you'll need. www.pcmag.com/news/amazon-...

AMD's CEO is a woman? Amazing "Su stands out in Silicon Valley, especially during Women’s History Month, because she’s the only female CEO among the top 10 semiconductor companies by market cap." www.cnbc.com/2025/03/20/a...

"Maybe we're just being a pretentious tech magazine, but it seems impossible not to have heard 'AI' about a million times since ChatGPT debuted. It's unclear if McMahon still had last night's dinner on her mind, or if she truly thought that's how you pronounce it." www.pcmag.com/news/she-can...

Elon Musk sounds particularly lost in last night's Q1 earning's call. He's drifting off mid-sentence, bringing up weird imagery, and struggles to bring any energy to his voice. His opening comments start at 7:55 livestream.tesla.com

The first YouTube video was uploaded 20 years ago today. Love the old school "home video" vibe www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNQX...

It’s hard to be a car company right now, but the NY Auto Show this year had a lot of new EVs. The industry is still convinced the future is electric. It just might take longer to get there. Full episode: www.unicornroast.com/p/so-you-wan...

On the Blue Origin female crew, I think the response has been overly negative. Did anyone EVER think this was a serious scientific endeavor? No. From my weekend tech podcast with @mikeelgan.bsky.social:

Don't be polite to ChatGPT! It's using unnecessary electricity and datacenter power. www.pcmag.com/news/why-bei...

Welcome, Mark!!

You thought Trump's tarrifs were high? Try these solar tariffs on four southeastern Asian countries, set at up to 3,521%. And this was a Biden-era dumping investigation... www.bbc.com/news/article... 🔌💡

Just submitted my first harassment report on X for someone repeatedly calling me a "woke" c-word for not including Tesla in a recent article about cars at the NY Auto Show (which Tesla did not attend.) We'll see how that goes. What a world we live in.

Very successful digital cleanup! My Gmail storage went down to 79% after being 99-100% for YEARS. I've refused to purchase storage. I discovered this menu, which categorized 10s of 1000s of emails I def didn't want. From there I bulk sent them to trash. Why didn't I do this ages ago?
