The NIH is the largest funder of cancer research in the world. Thanks largely to the NIH, overall cancer death rates in US dropped by 33% between 1991 & 2021. Unfortunately, this era of success will quickly become a memory as Trump hollows out the NIH through funding and staff cuts.
