Cooper's Hawks are much smaller than the Red-tailed hawks I usually see, but they're much more the daredevils, frequently plunging through tree canopies at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour in pursuit of prey. When diving, they can reach a speed of 120 miles per hour. #Birds #Birdsofprey #Hawks

Pygmy Nuthatch. These little guys are found in pine forests. They climb trees looking under bark and piles of needles for insects and seeds. They cache seeds by hammering them into cracks or under tree bark. On cold nights they sleep in groups inside the cavities of trees. #Birds #Nature #Birding

Coopers Hawk. These birds are rapacious hunters. Their diet consists of smaller birds and they will fly through dense branches in pursuit of their prey.
